October baseball is around the corner as the upper levels of Minor League Baseball come to a close. Four prospects took home Double-A Post-Season All-Star awards; two made such an impact that they earned a promotion to Triple-A with more than a month left in the regular season. Some closed out their regular seasons on a positive note and have seen action in the playoffs.

The Cubs’ No. 2 ranked prospect from MLB Pipeline’s impressive rise was only emphasized with a Southern League Post-Season All-Star honor. The switch-hitting catcher adds the award to his three Southern League Player of the Week and his Player of the Month (June) from his time in Knoxville. During the span he played with the Smokies (April 21 to July 16), Ayers was leading the league in home runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, extra-base hits and total bases.

Before a season-ending injury at the end of June, Martin was one of the top power bats not only in the Eastern League, but across all of Minor League Baseball. Prior to his call up to Triple-A, the Yankees 2023 UDFA was leading the league in home runs, RBI, extra-base hits and total bases. Across all of Minor League Baseball, his home runs were tied for the fourth most, XBHs tied for fifth and total bases ranked ninth. By the time of his last game of the season, he was tied for third in home runs, tied fourth in XBHs, ranked fifth in total bases and seventh in RBI.

Playing all 130 of his regular season games with the Arkansas Travelers, the Mariners’ 19th-round pick in 2023 ranked top-10 in 10 categories across the Southern League. He finished second in runs, third in extra-base hits and total bases, fourth in RBI, tied for fourth in home runs and doubles, fifth in hits, tied for fifth in walks, seventh in OPS and ninth in slugging percentage. In his journey to be a Texas League Post-Season All-Star, Pagliarini also claimed a Texas League Player of the Week honor to close out August.

Putting in the entire season with the Knoxville Smokies, starting in the bullpen and finishing in the starting rotation, Dawson Netz had a 100-strikeout season concluding with post-season All-Star honors in the Southern League. His final total of 103 led the team while placing him eighth amongst the league. During the 2024 MLB Draft League season, the right-hander struck out 33 over 21 2/3 innings for the Frederick Keys.
