
MLB Draft League alumnus continue to collect weekly Minor League awards and Owen Ayers has been in the thick of that, claiming his second straight Southern League (AA) Player of the Week. On the pitching side, Jacob Kisting took home Pitcher of the Week in the Southern Atlantic League. Plus, the 17th former MLB Draft Leaguer got a call to the bigs with Curtis Washington Jr. brought up directly from High-A Everett to the Seattle Mariners.

For the second straight week, Owen Ayers was named Southern League (AA) Player of the Week. The former Spike has received four total MiLB Player of the Week honors this year, including three at Double-A. The Cubs’ catching prospect flexed his muscle last week with two home runs and eight doubles across seven games and at the time of the announcement, ranked second across all of Double-A with an OPS of 1.069.
