Almost a full calendar month into the MLB and MiLB seasons, the MLB Draft League alumni presence strengthened with its 15th call-up to the show and another Minor League contract signed.
On Wednesday, April 22, the Boston Red Sox called up Eduardo Rivera (Williamsport Crosscutters 2021) after making two starts in Double-A with the Portland Sea Dogs. Ranked as the organizationโs No. 26 prospect by MLB Pipeline, the debut adds to an already memorable 2026 where he represented his native country, Puerto Rico, in the World Baseball Classic. Riveraโs call-up makes him the second Crosscutter from the 2021 season to debut for the Red Sox after Tyler Uberstine made his debut on Saturday, April 5.
In his debut, Rivera worked 3 1/3 innings, where he struck out the first batter faced to end the sixth and retired two more on strikes while allowing one hit.
