In past week, the MLB Draft League featured its 18th alumni debut in the Major Leagues with LHP Kohl Drake (Mahoning Valley ‘22) getting the start for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday, July 21. The Diamondbacks’ No. 10 MLB Pipeline prospect and former 11th-rounder worked five innings with five strikeouts, surrendering one run on four hits with the no decision.
Drake joins fellow southpaw Mitch Bratt (West Virginia ‘21) as alumni who have debuted with Arizona this season as well as RHP Duncan Davitt (CWS) and LHP Zach Thornton (NYM) as members of the 2022 Mahoning Valley Scrappers to reach and appear in MLB this year.
