The first half nears its conclusion with the 2026 MLB Draft less than two weeks away as a new group of prospects are set to officially become MLB Draft League alumni. An already strong group, this past week has seen big performances and even bigger accolades.
Ahead of the MLB All-Star break, Miguel Sime Jr., owner of the fastest pitch in MLB Draft League history, was named as a Washington Nationals representative for the 2026 MLB All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, June 12. The 2025 Trenton Thunder was the only alumni named on the roster release; the 19-year-old became the third alumni all-time to be selected in the showcase after Jonah Tong (NYM, Frederick ‘22) and Hayden Harris (ATL, Frederick ‘22) were named in 2025.
Entering the current week of games across Minor League Baseball, Owen Ayers continues his offensive surge with MLB Pipeline Prospect Team of the Week honors following his third Southern League (AA) Player of the Week award.
