MLB Draft League Alumni Report - Oct. 1

ALUMNI REPORT (19)

The gap between the end of the regular season and the start of the Arizona Fall League has a different feeling in 2026 because of the MLB Wild Card Series. This year, two MLB Draft League alumnus are rostered, with the White Sox’ Sam Antonacci (West Virginia ‘22) becoming the first to start a postseason game as he led off for Chicago in Game 1 on Tuesday. In the series opener, the former Black Bear recorded a two-run single in the second inning, extending the lead to 3-0 and came around to score later in the game. In the clinching Game 2, Antonacci led off the game with a double and scored during the next at-bat.

In the same series, Logan VanWey (Trenton ‘21) was the first Draft League pitcher to take the mound in postseason action during Game 1, retiring the lone batter he faced to end the sixth inning.

This week, with the regular season over, we highlight the Major League alumnus as well as those ranked in their organization’s Top 30 rankings by MLB Pipeline.
