To ensure the safety, comfort, and convenience of our guests, the following items are PROHIBITED in the ballpark:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Outside food or beverage or hard containers (glass bottles/metal cans)
  • Coolers (including soft-sided)
  • Any bag exceeding 12"x 6"x12"
  • All backpacks/schoolbags/gym bags
  • Skates/rollerblades/skateboards/hoverboards
  • Laser pointers
  • Unmanned aerial vehicles

A 'size-wise' box is available at each gate and fan services location to determine if a bag is permitted.

The following items are PERMITTED in the ballpark, but may be inspected at any time:

  • Strollers
  • Medical bags*
  • Standard-size seat cushion
  • Baseball gloves
  • Video and Photo Cameras (NO TRIPODS)
  • Small radios with headphones
  • Umbrellas (Not allowed in seating areas)

*All bags must be inspected and given a bag-tag before entering the ballpark

The Black Bears adopted the clear bag policy in 2017. The clear bag policy reflects an overall policy at Monongalia County Ballpark and also applies to West Virginia University's baseball season.

security-1172Fan Code of Conduct

Out of respect for fellow guests, players, coaches and ballpark staff, all guests are expected to follow the HIGH FIVE RULES OF THE GAME:

  1. No excessive drinking - intoxicated fans are not allowed inside or outside the ballpark
  2. No foul, derogatory or abusive language
  3. No smoking/vaping in the seating or concourse areas
  4. No throwing stuff (anything) onto the field
  5. No ignoring of the instructions of Event/Security personnel

In addition, fans are prohibited from the following:

  • Trespassing on the playing field or restricted areas, including the first and third-base berms, at any time
  • Interfering with baseballs that are in play
  • Behaving in a manner that is disruptive, unruly or abusive
  • Misusing tickets or credentials in any way
  • Bringing prohibited items into the ballpark

Derogatory language is defined as offensive language concerning a person’s race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, or national origin, and anyone using such language is subject to automatic ejection from the ballpark.

Violations of the Code of Conduct will not be tolerated and may lead to ejection from the ballpark, a ban on attending future games, or other consequences. Guests who are found to have used derogatory language will be ejected from the ballpark.

Guests are encouraged to report violations of the Fan Code of Conduct to the nearest ballpark staff member or at Guest Services behind section 102.

security-1174Postponed/Cancelled Games

Games may be postponed or cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances like rain or lightning strikes. All tickets purchased for games cancelled due to adverse weather may be exchanged for a later date during the same season.

prohibited-1176Re-Entry to the Ballpark

There is no re-entry into the ballpark once a fan has entered the ballpark, unless in the event of an emergency. This includes anyone who wishes to leave the ballpark and the grounds around it to smoke or use tobacco-related products.

What will be Monongalia County Ballpark's capacity?

We are currently operating at full seating capacity. Standing-room-only tickets (SRO) will be available this season. This may change as the season progresses and we will adapt accordingly.

What cleaning practices are in place at the ballpark?

High contact surfaces and common areas like restrooms are frequently disinfected in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Are face coverings required to attend Black Bears games?

Per CDC Guidelines, all unvaccinated visitors are expected to wear a mask in all indoor settings. Masks are encouraged for all in high traffic and indoor areas (concession lines, team store, restrooms, etc.). This policy may change in accordance with local and state guidelines. All policy changes will be posted here and around the ballpark premises. Fans are expected to wear their own masks, but a limited supply will be available on game days at all entry points and Guest Services, located behind Section 102.

Will hand sanitizing stations be readily available for fans?

Yes, hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout the concourse.

What social distancing requirements are in place for Black Bears games?

All fans are encouraged to maintain 6-feet of distance between individuals. When enjoying the game, please stay in your designated seats.

Will tailgating be allowed before Black Bears games?

Tailgating is not permitted at Monongalia County Ballpark to discourage large gatherings of people. Tailgating in any of the parking areas is also prohibited.

What is the process for entering the ballpark?

Gates to Monongalia County Ballpark will open one (1) hour before scheduled first pitch. All tickets will be digitally scanned and all visitors must hold their own ticket throughout the entry process. All bags are strongly discouraged to reduce contact during the entry process. However, our clear bag policy remains in place.

How will concessions work at Monongalia County Ballpark.

You can still enjoy many of your ballpark favorites this season. All our staff will be wearing face coverings and gloves and all condiments will be offered in single-serve containers. All point-of-sale areas will have a clear barrier and physical distancing markers will be used to encourage physical distancing while in line.

Will the Bears Den Team Store be open during games?

Will the Monongalia County Ballpark Ticket Office be open on game days?

The Ticket Office will be open starting at 9 a.m. on game days. Walk up tickets are based on availability, so please check the website for updates. All major credit cards are accepted. Cash transactions are discouraged.
