Monday

West Virginia (11) vs Trenton (4): BOX SCORE - The Black Bears found their way back to .500, opening the home series with a win. Ian Collier put together his first four-hit performance of the year, doing so in five at-bats, doubling twice and driving in three runs. The game’s designated hitter also came around to score twice, one of three to register two or more runs along with Jackson Trout (3) and Kevin Jones (2). Jones would also have a three-hit game of his own with two RBI and a double. For Trenton, three of its four runs came off of home runs from AJ Swader (418 feet, 104.1-mph exit velocity) in the sixth and a two-run shot from Ty Steck (365 feet, 93.4-mph exit velocity) in the ninth.

Williamsport (13) vs State College (7): BOX SCORE - The Crosscutters survived a Spikes’ late-inning push to stay within half a game of the Aberdeen IronBirds. With his second start of the season, Josh Willitts struck out five over six shutout innings and allowed just four batters to reach base, two via hits. On offense, Chris Stanfield and James McCoy each had three hits with the former scoring three times and the latter driving in one and scoring twice as well as having a double. Hitting third and fourth in the lineup, the following three batters behind the two, Nick Barone, Jack Kail and Matthew Williams, all had two hits and multiple RBI with Williams leading with four RBI that included his second home run in as many games. Coming in the third inning, Williams went 395 feet to left field with an exit velocity of 99.5 mph. Entering the seventh down 9-0, Justin Journette and the Spikes’ offense came alive as the outfielder slugged his first of two home runs in the game with a two-run blast 101.4 mph off the bat and 363 feet to left. In the eighth, State College would tack on five more runs, via the long ball as Camden Ross hit a grand slam on the first pitch of the at bat (339 feet, 98.9-mph exit velocity) with Journette, the very next batter, homering for the second time of the game (362 feet, 106.1-mph exit velocity) for his fourth of the summer. However, it would be all the Spikes could put across while the Crosscutters scored four more runs in the bottom of the eighth via a Williams hit by pitch and three-run double from Nick Romano.

Aberdeen (14) vs Mahoning Valley (8): BOX SCORE - Led by the two extra-base hits and four RBI from Max Galvin and multi-hit nights from Jacoby Radcliffe and Isaiah Parido, Aberdeen remained strong in holding their first place lead over the Williamsport Crosscutters. Galvin would bring across Aberdeen’s first two runs of the game in the first inning with a two-out double to right and would follow up in the third with his first home run of the summer (346 feet, 101.4-mph exit velocity) to make it a 4-0 score. The Scrappers would answer in the fifth by tying the game from a Jadyen Hylton and Maddox Mihalakis single as well as a walk to Tye Wood. However, Aberdeen would come back with the lead in the sixth on a two-run single by Radcliffe and would hold onto the lead for the remainder of the night. On the pitching side, Jake Geis was the only IronBirds pitcher to not allow a run, not allowing a baserunner through 1 1/3 innings and sharing the game lead with three strikeouts.

Tuesday

Aberdeen (7) vs Mahoning Valley (2): BOX SCORE - In the Tuesday matinee, the IronBirds capitalized on four runs in the fourth to take both games of the two-game set. The Scrappers took their first and only lead in the top of the fourth on a Jason Torres single to highlight a two-hit performance. Aberdeen would then follow with an RBI-triple from Isaiah Parido to tie and would then score on a wild pitch for the lead. The third of the four runs in the fourth would come from another triple, this time by Dylan Winebrenner who scored the next at bat on a Brycen Hammonds single. Mahoning Valley would get its second run via a Maddox Mihalakis single to match Torres’ two-hit day with an RBI. Parido and Winebrenner would also strike again for Aberdeen with the former producing a sacrifice fly in the fifth and the latter driving in two runs with an inside-the-park home run in the eighth inning.

State College (8) @ Williamsport (5): BOX SCORE - The Spikes took the second game of the mini series with three home runs in the sixth inning, including a historic blast. In the third inning, CJ Richmond and Camden Ross would go back-to-back in run-producing swings for a 2-0 lead. In the sixth, the two would go back-to-back again but with home runs. Richmond’s would lead off the inning for his fourth of the summer at 432 feet, 100.6 mph off the bat to right field with Ross’ second in as many games, also in a back-to-back sequence, would bring his summer total to three at 376 feet over the left center wall 97.2 mph off the bat. What came two batters later would be a 467-foot blast by Justin Journette for his third home run in the past two games and the longest in MLB Draft League history since 2022. It surpassed Dreylin Holmes’ 462-foot home run in the 2024 second half for all-time and Anthony Quigley’s home run of 461 feet for the longest of 2026. With an exit velocity of 110.6 mph, it was also the second hardest-hit home run since 2022 as well. It wouldn’t be the games’ last home run as the Crosscutters looked to mount a ninth inning rally with a two-run home run from Matthew Williams (339 feet, 97.5-mph exit velocity) for his third home run in as many games.

Thursday

State College (4) vs Aberdeen (4) Sudden Death Extra Inning: BOX SCORE - The Spikes return from the mid-week break with a walk-off winner in the sudden death extra inning. State College jumped out to a 4-1 lead through five innings led by two RBI from Nyan Hayes via a sacrifice fly in the third and single in the fifth where he would score a batter later from a Trent Turner double. During those five innings, Caleb Ruter struck out four with one unearned run on four hits and two walks. Before the Spikes scored their first two runs of the night, Finnegan Wall was limiting the offense as the IronBirds’ starter, finishing his night after four innings with five strikeouts and two earned runs on four hits. Aberdeen would chip away at the State College lead in the final three innings with runs in all three which was highlighted by Nathan Earley’s game-tying single in a two-strike count with two outs in the top of the ninth. With the game in the sudden death extra inning, Jackson Rains would single in the pinch-running Hudson Shupe for the walk-off victory.

Trenton (13) vs Williamsport (5): BOX SCORE - For the third time in the second half, the Thunder scored 13 runs behind three multi-hit and multi-RBI performances. Out of the cleanup spot in the order, Louis Percival led the game with three RBI that came on two extra-base hits, walking twice and coming across to score three times. Hitting ahead of him was Julian Swift who drove in two runs on three hits, also scoring three times with Jake Koonin rounding out the group via two hits and RBI. Michael Whooley accompanied Swift by having a three-hit game but only drove in one run. For Williamsport, Nick Barone led the offense with two RBI on two sacrifice flies while James McCoy cracked his second half-leading fourth home run (400 feet, 103.8-mph exit velocity) in the third inning.

Mahoning Valley (9) vs West Virginia (0): BOX SCORE - The first shutout of the second half and sixth of the summer only needed two pitchers to take the mound as the Scrappers took care of business at home. Alex Kanipe made his first Draft League start and second appearance for Mahoning Valley went five innings deep with five strikeouts, allowing five hits and walking none. From Butler University, it was the deepest the right-hander went into a game in 2026 passing the three innings he threw in his final NCAA appearance. It was also the most strikeouts he recorded in a game this year after striking out two at most last season on four occasions. Out of the bullpen, Jeremiah Newman tallied a four-inning save where the side-winding right-hander struck out four with no hits allowed. Across 16 appearances this summer, it was his longest as well and the most batters he struck out in a Draft League game. On offense, Cooper Vance and Zion Williams each drove in two runs with Williams’ being from his first home run (386 feet, 105.7-mph exit velocity) of the summer in the fifth inning.

Friday

State College (5) vs Aberdeen (4): BOX SCORE - The Spikes followed up their Thursday night walk-off by fending off an eighth inning rally to move half a game within first place. It started as a back-and-forth affair with Isaiah Parido doubling in the IronBirds’ first run followed by the Spikes taking a 2-1 lead via a CJ Richmond double in the fourth inning. In the seventh, Aberdeen would tie with a Patrick McCullough sacrifice fly, but singles from Jackson Rains, Luke Nomura and Ryan Rivera would put State College back in the lead 5-2. In the eighth, three of the first four batters would reach with Patrick Morris getting an earlier call from the bullpen to close out the night with 1 2/3 hitless innings for his third save in as many opportunities.

Trenton (4) vs Williamsport (3): BOX SCORE - The Thunder put themselves in position to sweep by capitalizing on walks and putting the ball in play. A double from Drew Wyers and Michael Whooley walk that was followed with a wild pitch was completed by runs on back-to-back swings from AJ Swader and Jake Koonin in the second inning. Trenton extended its lead to three with a fourth inning single by Michael Whooley but was answered by back-to-back RBI singles from Chris Stanfield and James McCoy in the sixth. In the bottom half of the inning, the Thunder would tally their third hit and fourth run on a solo home run from JuJu Stevens (420 feet, 107.8-mph exit velocity) for his first of the summer and second in his MLB Draft League career.

Mahoning Valley (8) vs West Virginia (2): BOX SCORE - After dropping seven of their first eight games, the Scrappers took their second straight, winning three of their last five. Keeping West Virginia scoreless through the first five, Alexander Llinas worked into the seventh for a total of 6 1/3 innings, striking out four and allowing one run on three hits and walks. The Lipscomb graduate was the first pitcher to register an out past six innings across both halves this summer, passing 11 pitchers who completed two-thirds of the game. After doubling in the bottom of the first, Maddox Mihalakis put Mahoning Valley on the board with his third home run of the half with a 408-foot, 106.5-mph two-run shot to right field. He would also drive in a third run the following inning on a sacrifice fly before ending his night with a single in the eighth for a three-hit performance. Joining him would be the two batters that flank Mihalakis in the lineup, Jayden Hylton and Cooper Vance with three hits themselves.

Saturday

Trenton (7) vs Williamsport (3): BOX SCORE - A four-run fifth helped the Thunder complete their first sweep of the second half and move to .500 in the standings for the first time post-draft. Williamsport would score its first three runs from a Matthew Williams double and Jack Kail sacrifice fly in the third and a Kail single in the fifth. However, Ryan Reich would keep the Crosscutters’ offense quiet after the single, finishing with seven strikeouts over four innings of relief. With the right-hander settled in after an inning, Trenton would bring in its four runs on a two-run single by Cy Turner that was followed by a Jake Koonin single with Turner scoring on a wild pitch from a Louis Percival walk. Percival would score in the eighth on a wild pitch as well during a Sam Gates at bat that ended in an RBI single of his own with Ty Stecko following up with a sacrifice fly for the Thunder and the game’s final run.

State College (9) vs Aberdeen (3): BOX SCORE - The Spikes moved into first place in the second half by sweeping the team they needed to pass in the standings. Camden Ross would put State College ahead in the first with an RBI-single but Jevin Relaford and the IronBirds would answer in the top of the second with a three-run double. It was answered in the bottom of the second on a Luke Nomura single, CJ Richmond triple and single by Ross for a 5-3. Nomura’s impact on the night wouldn’t stop there as he launched his second home run of the summer (396 feet, 102.3-mph exit velocity) to left center field. Aberdeen would be held hitless through the last 5 1/3 innings led by State College’s Jackson Mayo, who extended his unearned streak to 11 2/3 innings with three scoreless in relief, striking out two.

Mahoning Valley (10) vs West Virginia (5): BOX SCORE - The Scrappers completed the sweep as Maddox Mihalakis moved into sole possession of the second half lead in RBI. With two hits in the game, he singled in a run in the second inning and followed it up in the third with his fourth home run of the summer (411 feet, 103.9-mph exit velocity) which also tied the lead in the half. The third baseman from Arizona wasn’t the only one to showcase some power as West Virginia’s Elijah Cook went the other way in the first inning for his first home run (351 feet, 95.9-mph exit velocity) that was answered in the bottom half of the inning by Zion Williams’ second (401 feet, 100.8-mph exit velocity).

Sunday

Aberdeen (4) vs Trenton (3): BOX SCORE - Limiting the Thunder to two hits, the IronBirds snapped a two-game skid with big swings from Max Galvin and Nathan Earley. While Ethan Phillips held Trenton to one hit through four innings, Galvin put Aberdeen on the board with his second home run of the summer (339 feet, 100.9-mph exit velocity), bringing in Earley who singled two batters before. In the top of the fifth, the Thunder would come up with an answer via a Jake Koonin triple with the bases loaded after three walks, giving the visiting team a 3-2 lead. In the bottom half of the inning, Jacoby Radcliffe would double in a run to tie. In the bottom of the sixth, Earley would greet the new pitcher with a leadoff home run to the opposite field (350 feet, 97.6-mph exit velocity), for his second of the summer and be the game-winning run. In the midst of the first baseman’s home run, Aberdeen’s duo of Nick Greaney and Jake Geis held Trenton hitless through the last 4 1/3 innings, each striking out two through 2 1/3 and two innings with the win and save respectively.

Williamsport (7) vs West Virginia (6): BOX SCORE - The Crosscutters ended their four-game losing streak in walk-off fashion thanks to clutch hitting from Jake Kail. Through the first six innings, Williamsport was in control with six shutout innings by Josh Willitts after six shutout innings in his first start of the week on Monday. However, instead of striking out five with one walk, the right-hander struck out six with no walks. The Crosscutters’ offense started early as well with a leadoff home run by Carson Bayne in the bottom of the first (375 feet, 101.8-mph exit velocity) for his second of the summer. The Black Bears would go down 6-0 entering the seventh but a four runs in the inning and two the following, highlighted by a two-run single and double from Cayden Gaskin would tie the game entering the ninth. A scoreless top half of the inning followed by a James McCoy double, Matthew Williams hit by pitch and intentional walk to Nick Barone would lead to Kail stepping up with two outs. Working to a 2-2 count, the second baseman would take a low-middle changeup deep down the right field line, dropping safely for the walk-off single.

State College (12) vs Mahoning Valley (1): BOX SCORE - The Spikes won their fifth straight by their second largest margin and second-most runs of the entire summer. Pablo Torres made his first start of the summer with 4 2/3 shutout innings, striking out three with two walks and two hits. Ryan Rivera and Trent Turner led the offense with the opening runs on a two-run double and one-run single respectively. Rivera would end the night with three hits, two double, three RBI and three runs with Turner tallying four hits, one double, three RBI and two runs. CJ Richmond would also have three RBI which came from a three-run home run (387 feet, 101.4-mph exit velocity) that scored both Rivera and Turner. Camden Ross would drive in two runs on two hits for State College as well. Lynden Breugman would be the one Mahoning Valley pitcher to not allow a run with 2 2/3 innings of relief, four strikeouts, a hit and a walk.
