The MLB Draft League announced that West Virginia’s Cameron LeJeune was named Most Valuable Pitcher of the second half.

LeJeune, 23, finished the second half regular season with a 0.67 ERA and 31 strikeouts through 28 1/3 innings (14 games). He also surrendered 17 hits and walked nine for a 1.06 WHIP and .178 batting average against. The reliever ranked first in the second half in ERA as well as top 10 in wins (second, 4), WHIP (third) and in batting average against (fourth).

A reliable arm out of the bullpen, LeJeune had 10 of his 14 appearances last for at least two complete innings with an uninterrupted stretch of six games (13 innings) from July 24 to Aug. 13. He also carried 11 multi-strikeout games throughout the half with as many as four on three occasions and never allowed more than three hits in a game. All four of his wins in relief came at home in Morgantown, including West Virginia’s second half championship-clinching game, where he went 2 1/3 innings with three strikeouts on two hits and one run, the first earned run of his season after 11 scoreless outings.

LeJeune was also one of eight Black Bears pitchers to appear in the Draft League Championship and was even the winning pitcher. Facing the second-most hitters for the most innings on the team, the right-hander struck out three batters in two innings. In both innings, he was faced with runners in scoring position but ended each frame with soft ground balls.

The Sulphur, La., native joined the 2025 champions after completing his graduate season at Virginia Tech where made 18 appearances (one start), striking out 28 over 34 innings.
