Josh Skowronski would account for a run for half of Quigley’s six, recording a run on all three Quigley drives. Amidst the IronBirds’ offensive dominance, Michael Orbegozo turned in one of his best performances when he struck out eight batters over six innings allowing just one hit, that came in the form of a solo home run by Sam Miller (400 feet, 104.5-mph EV) to break up the no-hitter.
Williamsport (6) vs Mahoning Valley (3): BOX SCORE - The Crosscutters extended their win streak to five and take sole possession of second place behind seven combined no-hit innings from David Horn Jr. (4 IP, 6 K) and Brendan Sweeney (3 IP, 2 K). Williamsport carried the lead for the whole game following a bases loaded walk in the first and featured RBI-doubles from Brodey Acres and Slaide Burd. For the Scrappers, Tommy Harrison was the offensive spark as he slugged his first home run of the season to right at 408 feet with an exit velocity of 105.7 mph.
State College (7) vs Canada (5): BOX SCORE - Baseball Canada came close to securing its first win of the MLB Draft League International Series, but a late offensive rally from the American-based hosts brought the Spikes to a game within .500. Canada got off to an early start after a single from Elliot Lascelles and back-to-back doubles by Kadym Armitage and Robert Omidi in the first inning. Pitching for Canada, Joseph Pereira struck out nine batters to tie the single-game best of 2026. State College would tie the game at four in the fifth from a 108.6-mph double from CJ Richmond who scored on a Tyree Reed 106-mph single who then scored to tie the game on a Kolt Myers double. Canada would retake the lead in the seventh on a Jalen Jacob RBI single. The 16-year-old’s swing not only brought in the go-ahead run, but it would be the hardest-hit ball of the season across the league at an even 111 mph. In the bottom half of the inning, current Spike and a member of the 2025 Junior National Team, Easton Kitura, would tie the game with a sacrifice fly and a walk in the eighth drawn by Dominic Pellegrin would give the lead to State College. Cale Willson would then come into the game for the Spikes to secure the win for State College’s second consecutive victory.
Trenton (11) vs Mexico (5): BOX SCORE - The Thunder took their 10th victory of the 2026 season behind three multi-hit and multi-RBI performances to overcome Mexico’s early 3-0 lead. Collin McKinney kept the Aberdeen bats silent through the first three innings as the Black Bear struck out six and allowed one runner to reach base via a single in the third by Leamsi Montanez. The Arizona product also reached a personal MLB Draft League best in fastball velocity with a 97-mph pitch. For Aberdeen, Austin Puett’s fastest pitch of the night in the seventh registered at 100.1 mph, the 10th fastest in MLB Draft League history. Williamsport (2) vs Mahning Valley (1): BOX SCORE - Pitching was the main attraction in Billtown with clutch hitting from the Crosscutters being the difference. Following three innings from Alex Walsh, the combination of Joseph Webb and Will Bartkoski kept Mahoning Valley hitless as the three combined for 11 strikeouts. For the Scrappers, Ethan Stade put together three scoreless innings with four strikeouts that was followed by seven strikeouts in four innings by David Lally Jr. However, Lally would be the one credited with the loss following an unearned run on a Maddix Dalena single in the fifth and Kyle Schupmann delivering the game-winning run on his first home run of the season 356 feet to left with an exit velocity of 100.1 mph.
State College (8) vs Canada (5): BOX SCORE - The Spikes overcame early Canadian offense again to extend their winning streak to three. Trenton (6) vs Mexico (5): BOX SCORE - Joek Rivera continued to be the spark for Trenton on offense and defense as they held their lead in the standings to three games. Out of the New Mexico Military Institute, Rivera followed up his three-hit, homer shy of the cycle night by connecting on his first home run of the season (352 feet, 101.5-mph EV) and another multi-hit performance. For Mexico, Leonardo Delgado put together clutch at bats with a walk to bring in the go-ahead run in the third and doubled to tie the game at five in the fifth. The 18-year-old was the game’s co-leader with Rivera having two RBI. After the fifth though, Trenton held Mexico hitless through the final four innings led by Luc Rising who struck out two to secure the save.
Thursday
West Virginia (4) vs Aberdeen (3): BOX SCORE - The Black Bears avoided being swept at home thanks to the offensive production of Kahanu Martinez and lockdown final at bat from Jake Kramer. Martinez, an Oregon commit, gave West Virginia a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run home run to left center (362 feet, 101.7-mph EV) for his first of the season. He would also be the Black Bears’ fourth and deciding run in the eighth, scoring on a ground-rule double from Walker Barron. On the mound, Victor Christal, a member of the historic Johnson County CC program and Kansas State commit, made his first Draft League start featuring three innings and six strikeouts. In the ninth, the IronBirds sparked a small rally to make it a one-run game, however a call to Kramer with two outs and runners on the corners resulted in a strikeout to end the game.

Brett Antolick made his second start of the summer, lasting four innings with five strikeouts and saw his splitter spin down to 760 rpm. State College (9) vs Trenton (7): BOX SCORE - Scoring came early and often in the series opener as the two teams went back-and-forth, down to the wire. Trenton would take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first but Camden Ross quickly evened the score in the bottom half, scoring a pair on an RBI double before taking the lead on a Kolt Myers sacrifice fly. After a sacrifice fly in his first at-bat, Augie Lopez, a catcher out of the University of Southern California, blasted a two-run shot in his first MLB Draft League game to put the Thunder ahead. The Spikes struck back with RBI triples in the third and fourth from Myers and Dominic Pellegrin to jump ahead 5-4. Jordan Thomas got into the RBI triple action for Trenton, grabbing one of his own in sixth to cut the deficit to one. The Spikes would regain a three-run lead in their half of the sixth and held things down from there. Parker Loew made it a one-run game in the eighth with a two-run blast but Cale Willson was able to close things out for the Spikes in the ninth, picking up his league-leading fourth save. Kyler Heyne was the winning pitcher, working 2.1 scoreless innings on just one hit while striking out four.

Just four batters later, James Whitman blasted a home run of his own, one of his two extra-base hits on the day.
