Tuesday
State College (8) vs Williamsport (7): BOX SCORE - The Spikes opened up the week by fending off a ninth-inning rally for the home victory. Jaden Collura led the State College offense with a 3-for-3 day at the plate with a three-run double in the seventh inning and extending his hit streak to seven games. Williamsport’s Max Mandler had a three-hit day as well with two doubles and RBI, his second driving in both runs to bring the Crosscutters within one in the ninth. In four straight games, Mandler has delivered multi-hit performances with an RBI. On the mound, Josh Leerssen struck out nine in six innings for the Crosscutters with one run allowed.
Frederick (4) @ Trenton (1): BOX SCORE - The Keys won their fifth game in Trenton against the Thunder this summer behind three total runs from Trey Lipsey as well as Jake Hunter’s start on the mound. Lipsey went 2-for-4 on the night with a triple, RBI and two runs along with a stolen base, his 33rd of the summer and seventh of the second half. Two starts removed from flirting with a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts, Hunter returned to Trenton and struck out seven over 5 1/3 innings and allowed the lone Thunder run on an executed first-and-third steal by Donovan Cash.
Mahoning Valley (2) vs West Virginia (1) Called after six innings: BOX SCORE - The Scrappers snapped the Black Bears’ 10-game win streak in a rain-shortened contest. Before the game ended in the top of the seventh, Tyler Johnson’s start went six innings with five strikeouts, keeping West Virginia to one run scored in the first on a Jace Rinehart single. Dreylin Holmes and Ian Francis drove in the Mahoning Valley runs with singles in the first and fourth inning to open the week with a win.
Wednesday
State College (7) vs Williamsport (6): BOX SCORE - Late scoring helped the Spikes take the series with a chance to sweep over the Crosscutters. State College started with three runs in the first inning on T.J. Salvaggio’s second home run of the summer (360 ft, 98.4-mph exit velocity), highlighting a 3-for-3 day with four RBI and three runs. Williamsport would tie in the second on a two-run double from TJ Racherbaumer who would score on a throwing error. Dan Tauken followed in the third with his first of two RBI on a double to score Salvaggio for a Spikes’ 4-3 lead. Some back and forth between the teams would set up Salvaggio in the eighth to drive in what would be the game-winning run on a single to right.
Trenton (8) vs Frederick (5): BOX SCORE - The Thunder snapped their four-game skid behind Cameron Yuran’s offense and Brendan Parks’ six-out save. Yuran went 3-for-3 with an RBI, two runs and a stolen base, driving in the first Trenton run of the game in the third and acting as insurance runs in the sixth and eighth. Parks would enter in the eighth with Trenton leading by one, and he proceeded to strike out four and allow two baserunners for his first save in his fifth appearance out of the bullpen after originally being a starter. In his new role, Parks has struck out 15 in 6 2/3 innings with one earned run, a significant improvement from his 18 earned runs in 18 1/3 innings with 20 strikeouts as a starter. For Frederick, Ethan Ott and Cam Pittman combined twice to bring in runs as Ott would drive in Pittman on two occasions for each to lead the team in RBI and a co-share of the lead in runs with Jamal Ritter.
Mahoning Valley (9) vs West Virginia (3): BOX SCORE - The Scrappers allowed one earned run, taking Game 2 of the three-game home series with multi-hit games from Ian Francis and Patrick Roche. Francis was responsible for three runs with an RBI single in the third and fourth and a run after his second hit, ending the game 3-for-5. Roche went 2-for-5 with one RBI that came in the seventh to score the game’s final run. Out of the bullpen for Mahoning Valley, Trent Harris earned the win after three innings and three strikeouts with one hit and walk, followed by Nathan Harris going two no-hit innings with two strikeouts.
Thursday
State College (6) @ Williamsport (5): BOX SCORE - The Spikes completed the interstate sweep with another one-run victory behind two home runs and a quality start. T.J. Salvaggio went yard for the second consecutive game in the eighth inning (381 ft, 97-mph exit velocity) to cap off a 2-for-3 game with two RBI and two runs. Joining him with roundtrippers, Jaden Collura (333 ft, 96-mph exit velocity) deposited his first of the summer for State College the inning prior and in the ninth inning, Williamsport’s Marcus Brodil’s home run (393 ft, 104-mph exit velocity) was the final run to cross in the game. Carter Holjes’ start for the Spikes saw the right-hander strike out eight in five innings with one earned run on four hits.
Trenton (17) vs Frederick (9): BOX SCORE - On 20 hits, the Thunder put together their second highest-scoring game of the 2025 season, but single highest of the second half. All nine Trenton batters collected hits with Connor Maryniak and CJ Willis having four-hit performances, Maryniak’s 10th of the summer and Willis’ first. Cameron Yuran also made it consecutive games with three hits as he was only a home run shy of the cycle, but drove in six runs for the most RBI in a game across both halves of the 2025 MLB Draft League season.
Mahoning Valley (6) vs West Virginia (5): BOX SCORE - The Scrappers completed the three-game sweep in walk-off fashion before heading on the road to State College. Min-Seong Jeong fired seven shutout innings with defense playing strong behind him as he only struck out one batter. Patrick Roche and Hayden Morre put together multi-hit performances at the top of the Mahoning Valley lineup, each scoring two runs. With the Scrappers leading 5-0 entering the eighth, West Virginia mounted a comeback with three in the inning and two in the ninth to tie before Carson Hornung completed the walk-off with an infield single that scored Theo Bryant IV.
Friday
State College (8) vs Mahoning Valley (3): BOX SCORE - The Spikes won their fifth straight game on the back of a strong Alec Sparks start. The Spikes right-hander earned the win with seven innings of one-run baseball, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out seven. Offensively, it was Trotter Boston who carried the State College offense as he plated three of their first four runs with two-run single and RBI groundout. Boston would finish the game with three hits and four RBI, while Jaden Collura also chipped in with three hits. Carson Hornung got the Scrappers on the board in the sixth with an RBI triple, but it was Chase Nixon and Tommy Rover leading the way with two hits apiece. The Spikes led from start to finish and put themselves in position to win their sixth straight Saturday, also attempting to sweep the two-game series.
Trenton (10) vs Williamsport (4): BOX SCORE - In his third start of 13 appearances, Luis Misla recorded his summer-best six innings and tied his most strikeouts with eight as he earned the win for Trenton. Donovan Cash carried the Thunder's offense with two doubles and three RBIs, his third game with three or more runs batted in. John Schroeder also recorded two hits for Trenton but only had one double and scored twice. Before Misla’s night was over, Marcus Brodil recorded his second home run in as many games with a solo shot (404 ft, 103.1-mph exit velocity) in the sixth inning.
Frederick (7) @ West Virginia (1): BOX SCORE - The Keys kicked off the road series in Morgantown behind offensive production from Cam Hassert and Parks Bouk plus a quality start by Paul Panduro. Hassert reached in all five plate appearances with three hits (one double) and two walks, supplemented by an RBI, run and two stolen bases. It was the Frederick shortstop’s sixth three-plus hit game of the summer and second in as many games along with his first game where he reached in all of his plate appearances. Opposite of Hassert at second base, Bouk accounted for a game-leading three RBI that he delivered on a triple in the sixth and single in the seventh. Panduro’s start lasted six innings with three strikeouts, surrendering the Black Bears’ lone run on a Judah Morris single in the third inning.
Saturday
Williamsport (10) @ Trenton (7): BOX SCORE - The Crosscutters split the two-game road set behind a seventh inning rally that saw six runs come across to take the lead. Trenton’s Donovan Cash recorded his second consecutive three-hit game as he doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice. Connor Maryniak also tallied three hits for the Thunder with one run. For Williamsport, three-hit performances came from Marcus Brodil and Braylon Bishop. Brodil would account for five runs with four RBI and scoring once with two two-run singles in the third and seventh, the later tying the game. Bishop would record three runs, the first on Brodil’s third-inning single, the second on a Vantrel Reed home run in the fifth (350 ft, 91-mph exit velocity) and the third in the seventh that started Williamsport’s rally on a Joey Parliment single.
Mahoning Valley (10) @ State College (5): BOX SCORE - The Scrappers split the two-game series on the road with eight of nine batters reaching base. Hayden Moore collected his first three-hit game of the summer in six at-bats with one run while Patrick Roche, Tommy Rover and Seung-Jun Cha recorded two hits of their own. Cha’s two hits included a double and four RBI, with the seventh-inning double driving in three to make it a then 8-4 game. The Scrappers’ third baseman also stole two bases to give him seven on eight attempts. For State College, Cole Caruso collected his first three-plus hit game since July 27, when he had four and Jaden Collura led the team with two RBI from a fielder’s choice and sacrifice fly.
West Virginia (11) vs Frederick (3): BOX SCORE - The Black Bears snapped four-game losing skid, thanks to an eight-run second inning that propelled them to an 11-3 win. West Virginia had eight hits in the first two innings, 14 in total, with Jace Rinehart and Drew Collins each picking up three of them. Alex Ungar, J.T. Carter and Jake Berg also added two hits apiece for West Virginia. Offensively for the Keys, Bronson Rivera sent a two-run shot over the wall in left center field, while Jamal Ritter was the lone player with multiple hits. Both bullpens were strong down the stretch as neither surrendered a run over 11 innings of work. Ricky Harrison and Cameron LeJeune each worked two scoreless for the Black Bears, and Michael Foltz Jr. went three and earned the win. For the Keys, Ian Cooke and Randy Reyes allowed just two baserunners over the final four frames, each going two innings.
Sunday
Trenton (10) @ Mahoning Valley (8): BOX SCORE - The Thunder didn’t let up their lead on the road as they opened the three-game set with their fourth win of the week. Tyler Collins connected for his first home run of the summer with a three-run shot in the second inning (386 ft, 101.5-mph exit velocity). The Trenton outfielder finished the game with one more RBI on his second hit of the game with a single in the sixth. Trailing 10-5 in the bottom of the eighth, the Scrappers looked to fight back with a run scoring on a wild pitch and Dreylin Holmes taking a share of the second-half leader for home runs with his fifth of the summer (365 ft, 99.5-mph exit velocity) to make it a two run-game. Holmes would finish with three RBI, two runs and a stolen base with two hits and two walks.
Williamsport (7) @ West Virginia (6): BOX SCORE - Williamsport ended the week on a two-game winning streak as the Crosscutters took Game 1 of the road series against the second-half frontrunners. Jackson Mayo came through for the Crosscutters as the only player in the game with three hits, doing so in five at bats with a double, RBI and two runs. Behind him, Braylon Bishop collected two hits with a triple, RBI, run and stolen base. The Black Bears sparked late offense that was led by Jace Rinehart extending his hit streak to 14 games, collecting two with a double, RBI and two runs. Across those 14 games, Rinehart is averaging two hits per contest with three games featuring three or more hits, including a five-hit game.
Frederick (5) @ State College (3) Completed after seven innings: BOX SCORE - Shortened by rain after the top of the seventh, Frederick was led by Ethan Ott’s performance to take Game 1 on the road. The Keys’ third baseman accounted for all five runs with four RBI and a run in two hits (one triple) across three at bats. Keeping Frederick close, Conor Higgs recorded his second home run of the summer on a solo shot to center (413 ft, 102.6-mph exit velocity) that opened up scoring in the second inning. After the homer, Ott would single to tie in the third, with the Spikes taking the lead again on a Gavin Lewis Jr. single in the fourth, answered by Ott’s three-run triple and coming around to score two at-bats later.
