
The 2025 MLB trade deadline was a busy one for Draft League graduates, as six shifted teams with three of those players slotting into their respective organizations Top 30 Prospects. Beyond updating the deadline transactions, six additional players were promoted over the past week.
We update all the player movement, as well as a pair of second-half contracts being purchased, and 18 additional former Draft League players who are hot to start the month.

Promotions/Transactions
2021 West Virginia Black Bears | Diamondbacks No. 10 Prospect (MLB Pipeline)
Mitch Bratt was traded from the Rangers to the Diamondbacks on July 31, alongside former Draft League pitcher Kohl Drake, and David Hagaman in exchange for Merrill Kelly. Bratt has reported to Double-A Amarillo and made his debut on Aug. 5, amassing eight strikeouts over 4.2 innings.
2022 Mahoning Valley Scrappers | Diamondbacks No. 7 Prospect (MLB Pipeline)
Kohl Drake was a part of the Merrill Kelly trade listed above and has reported to Triple-A Reno. Drake made his debut with the Aces on Aug. 2 and worked 5.2 innings, earning his second win at the Triple-A level.
2022 Williamsport Crosscutters | Athletics No. 5 Prospect (MLB Pipeline)
Braden Nett was a piece in one of the bigger deadline deals, heading to the Athletics alongside three other prospects, with Mason Miller and J.P. Sears going back to the Padres. Nett was the Padres No. 3 prospect at the time of the trade and now becomes the Athletics No. 5 Prospect.
2021 Trenton Thunder | Padres No. 19 Prospect (MLB Pipeline)
Garrett Hawkins was promoted from High-A to Double-A San Antonio on Aug. 1. Hawkins made his Double-A debut the following day and earned a two-inning save, allowing two hits, no runs, no walks and three strikeouts.
2021 Frederick Keys
Evan Taylor was promoted to Double-A Knoxville and made his debut the following day, striking out two over 1.1 innings.
2021 Mahoning Valley Scrappers
Chase Valentine was promoted to Double-A Fort Wayne on Aug. 1, his second promotion to the level over the past two years. Valentine has yet to make an appearance since joining the TinCaps.
2024 Frederick Keys
After a strong month of July that saw him post a 1.96 ERA over four stars, Evan Yates was promoted to High-A Aberdeen. With the promotion coming Aug. 2, Yates has not yet made an appearance for the IronBirds.
2023 Williamsport Crosscutters
Jack Crowder earned a promotion to High-A Aberdeen on August 5. Crowder posted a 3.05 ERA in Singla-A during July and has yet to make an appearance with the IronBirds.
2021 Williamsport Crosscutters
Dominic Hambley is putting together his best Minor League season to-date with a 1.36 ERA over 21 games. With the success, Hambley was promoted to High-A South Bend on Aug. 5.
2025 Williamsport Crosscutters
Colton Cosper was the first MLB Draft League player to have his contract purchased when he signed with the New York Mets on Aug. 1. Cosper impressed over three starts in the MLB Draft League, boasting an ERA of 0.53 with 20 strikeouts to just one walk
2025 Frederick Keys
Griffin Green became the second player to have his contract purchased, joining the Cincinnati Reds on Aug. 3. Green worked seven innings over seven appearances, working to a 2.57 ERA with 11 strikeouts to five walks.
Draft History
The MLB Draft League has found success in the MLB Draft through its first five seasons with 233 players drafted and another 180 signing as free agents for a total of 413 players placed in affiliated baseball.
