MLB Draft League Alumni Report - June 5

The MLB Draft League’s fifth season got underway Wednesday, June 4, as the next crop of future pro baseball players began their journey to the 2025 MLB Draft. In the first four seasons of the league, the MLB Draft League has seen more than 170 players drafted and currently boasts 300+ players playing affiliated ball.

Six former players have made their MLB Debut with more on the way as there’s currently 22 players listed within their organization’s Top 30 MLB Pipeline prospects. Beyond the top prospects, there’s an additional 10 players one level away from their MLB debut as they continue to showcase themselves at the Triple-A level.

With a plethora of talent navigating their way through the minor leagues, we will provide alumni updates throughout the season with top performing players who have come through the MLB Draft League system.

Promotions

RHP Andrew Hoffmann (KC)
2021 Mahoning Valley Scrappers
Hoffmann was promoted from Triple-A to MLB and made his Major League debut May 30 with two innings of work against the Detroit Tigers.

RHP Ryan Schiefer (TB)
2023 West Virginia Black Bears
Schiefer was promoted from Rookie to Single-A on June 5 after pitching to a 3.00 ERA over 12 innings with the FCL Rays.

RHP Cedric De Grandpre (ATL)
2022 West Virginia Black Bears
De Grandpre was promoted from Rookie to High-A on June 1 following a rehab assignment. The right-hander was sharp in his first outing with the Rome Emperors, working five hitless innings while racking up nine strikeouts.

Draft History

The MLB Draft League has found success in the MLB Draft through its first four seasons with 177 players drafted and another 149 signing as free agents for a total of 326 players placed in affiliated baseball.
