We have declared 2025 as the year of “THE GOLDENS”. This is in honor of our four generations of Golden Retriever Bat Dogs.
On the following six dates, June 18, June 25, August 3, August 6, August 13 and August 20, the Thunder will become the “TRENTON GOLDENS”. This will honor all four of our Golden Retriever Bat Dogs. Fans can bring their pups on all of these dates and the team will wear special GOLDENS uniforms and hats.
When CHASE “That Golden Thunder” joined the Thunder in August of 2002, he started a family business that continued with his son DERBY, his grandson ROOKIE, and now with young cousin DASH!
Our four generations of GOLDEN Bat Dogs have not only entertained millions of Thunder fans here at home… but they have also attracted fans from all over the world. They have been featured on television, newspapers, magazines, and websites for the past 23 years. In September of 2021, Rookie was featured on NBC’s The Today Show, ABC’s Good Morning America, and MSNBC’S Morning Joe. Their greatest television appearance was the Emmy-Nominated ESPN E-60 show “The Family Business” in 2015. ESPN has continued to run this great Bat Dog Documentary through this year.
The Thunder Bat Dogs are presented by ARM & HAMMER Pet Care Products. They are trained at the Greenleaf Pet Resort in Millstone Township, NJ. Their health and wellness is taken care of by Newtown Veterinary Hospital in Newtown, PA. Their food and treats are from Nutri Source Pet Foods.
