(Trenton, NJ) – The Trenton Thunder and NJM Insurance Group (NJM) announced that the Trenton- based regional insurer will continue as the Presenting Partner of the Thunder for an additional five years. The announcement coincides with the start of the team’s 30th season. The extension builds on an already strong relationship between the two organizations that have partnered on several community outreach and charitable giving initiatives throughout the years.

“For over a decade, NJM and the Trenton Thunder have joined efforts to benefit the City of Trenton, and all its residents who have come to love this hometown team and the excitement it brings,” said Mitch Livingston, NJM president, and CEO. “NJM has deep roots in the Capital City, and we are proud to continue as the Thunder’s Presenting Partner and our shared mission of supporting the communities that we are privileged to serve.”

The renewal of the Presenting Partnership agreement, which began in 2018 ahead of the Thunder’s 25th season, reaffirms the commitment of both organizations to the City of Trenton and maintains NJM’s role as the exclusive property and casualty insurance company sponsor for the Thunder.

“Together, the Trenton Thunder and NJM Insurance Group continue to make a special impact throughout the Trenton region. A dedication to community service is embedded in both our histories," said Thunder President Jeff Hurley. "For many seasons, NJM has been a great corporate partner and as we celebrate our 30th season all year long, we’re proud to continue to display the NJM brand next to ours."

Since 2012, NJM has combined with the Thunder to donate more than $140,600 to Trenton-area organizations through the "Safe at Home" program in which NJM makes a financial contribution to a different non-profit each year based on the number of runs the Thunder score at home. Last season, $10,850 was donated to the Miracle League of Mercer County.

The Thunder kick off their 30th season at Trenton Thunder Ballpark on Thursday, June 1 at 7:00 PM against the Frederick Keys.
