Names to Know

Position Players

3B/OF Tim Piasentin (Miami commit): Tim Piasentin will be the main attraction on Canadaโ€™s positional side as a strong spring has propelled him to No. 154 in MLB Pipelineโ€™s Top 200 MLB Draft Prospects. 6-foot-3, 215-pound left-handed hitter and the pullside power is what has attracted scouts throughout the spring. The B.C. native hit .333 last month against pro arms in the Dominican Republic and should provide quality ABโ€™s against Draft League arms.

OF Philip Cheong (Stanford commit): While Piasentin will provide the thump in the Canadian lineup, Cheong provides the energy out of the leadoff spot. Canadaโ€™s second most sought after prep positional player, the Stanford commit is a high-level athlete who gets on base and wreaks havoc as he moves around them. Cheong will handle the centerfield position where his athleticism and speed allow him to excel.

INF Robert Omidi (Kentucky commit): Canada boasts a strong crop of 2026 prospects and Omidi is atop the list on the positional side. 6-foot-1, 190-pound infielder who will likely handle the majority of duties at 2B but itโ€™s the feel to hit from the left-side that draws attention. On Canadaโ€™s most recent trip to the Dominican Republic, Omidi went 7-for-26 with a pair of doubles and more walks than strikeouts against the affiliated arms. The Kentucky commit is ranked No. 159 in Prep Baseballโ€™s national 2026 rankings.

3B Justin Romprรฉ (Iowa Western commit): Romprรฉ, a Quebec native, will head into the Draft League series as one of the hottest hitters in the country following a five home run day (two games) and seven home run weekend. The third baseman has as much raw power as anyone in the country and has been able to tap into that this year with two home runs against pro arms. Romprรฉ will be a player to watch in the middle of Canadaโ€™s order as he could provide some fireworks at any moment in the box.

SS Elliot Lascelles (Yale commit): Another elite 2026 to follow in the series, Lascelles will handle the shortstop position and will attract plenty of draft interest over the next 13 months. The left-hander hitter has excellent bat-to-ball skills and flashed it last month against pro arms in the Dominican, going 11-for-28 with just two strikeouts. While the tools arenโ€™t loud, itโ€™s a well-rounded game that should have his name all over the box scores. Lascelles is ranked No. 401 in Prep Baseballโ€™s national 2026 rankings.

OF Easton Kitura (Miami commit): Kitura is another nationally-ranked 2026 on the team and is hitting his stride at the right time following an 8-for-20 showing against pro arms in the Dominican, also adding three doubles and a triple. Itโ€™s the projection and athleticism from the left-handed hitter that really draws attention as the Alberta native continues to show his bat-to-ball are improving.

Pitchers

LHP Shane Brinham (Michigan commit): Shane Brinham is one of Canadaโ€™s two most sought after prep arms with both making appearances in the series. Compact left-hander at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds with a fastball thatโ€™s been up to 93 mph and sits in the 88-92 mph range. The Michigan commit possesses an put away pitch with his slider in the 77-82 mph range, along with a changeup. Thereโ€™s swing-and-miss stuff and the Draft League series will be one of his final few showings ahead of the draft in July.

LHP Sean Duncan (Vanderbilt commit): Despite only being a 2026, Sean Duncan will be the most prized prospect to take the field in this series as the B.C. native is generating buzz as a potential top 50 selection in the 2026 MLB Draft. The left-hander pitches with emotion and a true three-pitch mix that allows him to throw any pitch in any count, highlighted by a fastball thatโ€™s been up to 93 mph and is consistently in the 89-92 range. Duncan dominated pro hitters last month in the Dominican, allowing three hits and no walks over seven scoreless innings while racking up 14 punchouts.

RHP Will Hynes (Wake Forest commit): Will Hynes is another 2025 draft arm in the Canadian rotation that should have plenty of scouts in their seats when he takes the mound. Committed to Wake Forest as a 2026, Hynes is draft-eligible and the easy operating right-hander will sit in the low-90s and has run it up to 94 mph this spring. The Ontario native spins the slider well at 2900+ rpm and thereโ€™s feel for a changeup with good fade to it. Hynes impressed the last time he put on the Canadian uniform in May as he pitched eight scoreless innings allowing just four hits, one walk and struck out 11. Hynes comes in at No. 159 in MLB Pipelineโ€™s Top 200 MLB Draft Prospects.
