Become part of the Black Bears family by hosting a player or being part of the "Adopt-a-Player" Program. As a short-season team, Black Bears players reside in Morgantown during the summer for approximately three months. At this level, many of the athletes are young and new to professional baseball. Host and Adoptive families offer a family connection for Black Bears players in a new environment.
While HOST FAMILIES take on the responsibility of housing a player for their stay in Morgantown, ADOPTIVE FAMILIES provide support. This could be something as simple as providing rides to and from the grocery store or treating players to dinner after a game. Levels of involvement depend entirely on the Adoptive families and the athletes.
