
(Trenton, NJ) – Your Trenton Thunder, presented by NJM Insurance Group, are excited to announce two new additions to their baseball operations staff for the upcoming 2025 season: Bobby Jones as Pitching Coach and Marquise Peel as Athletic Trainer.
Bobby Jones brings a wealth of experience to the Thunder, both as a player and a coach. Jones enjoyed a six-year Major League Baseball career playing for the Rockies, Mets, Padres, and Red Sox. Drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1991, his coaching journey includes stints at Don Bosco Prep and Montclair High School, as well as with the Rockland Boulders (now New York Boulders) of the Frontier League. Most recently, Jones managed the Sussex County Miners of the Frontier League from 2016 to 2022, leading them to a league championship in 2018. In 2023, he was hired as the Vice President and Chief Business Officer for the New Jersey Jackals.

Joining Jones is Marquise Peel, who will serve as the team's Athletic Trainer. Peel comes to the Thunder after serving as the Associate Director of Athletics of Sports Medicine at Saint Peter's University. A graduate of Eastern University, Peel has also held athletic trainer positions at Immaculata University and West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
The Thunder kick off the 2025 season at Trenton Thunder Ballpark on Wednesday, June 4 at 7:00 PM against the Williamsport Crosscutters.
