Tonight, we honored longtime Trenton-area resident and World War II Veteran, 98-year old Robert Butcher.
Butcher served in the Pacific Theater as a Corporal of the Marine Corps, and served as a Pay Master Clerk and lived in China and Guam during his service. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and returned to Trenton to work at Roebling Steel where he met his wife Estella.
Today, Robert spends his time gardening at home, picking up kielbasa from the Trenton Farmer's Market, and occasionally going to Park Casino. He enjoys living a quiet life, where is content to sit outside in the sun and chat with his neighbors of Ewing Twp. Robert is true Hometown Hero as well as the nicest guy you will ever meet.
