CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today announced the roster for the 2025 16U/17U National Team Development Program (NTDP). The NTDP is set to be held from July 24-27 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
This year’s NTDP will feature 72 players split into four teams. In addition to competing in three games in round-robin format, players will take part in on-field workouts, skill development sessions, off-field educational seminars, and gain exposure to professional scouts, college recruiters, USA Baseball staff, and national team coaches. Additionally, the coaching staff will assess and evaluate players for possible future participation in USA Baseball national team programming.
“The National Team Development Program annually brings in the top amateur talent in the nation,” said Jim Koerner, USA Baseball’s Director of Player Development. “With a heavy focus on developing these talented athletes, the NTDP is certain to make a big impact on these players. We are excited to gather seventy-two of the country’s best 16-and-17-year-old players for four days in Cary.”
The NTDP roster features 13 USA Baseball alumni, including 11 who were members of last year’s 15U National Team that went 5-0 in a friendly series against Australia. That list includes two-time alums Jared Grindlinger and Jacob Seamon, who were teammates on the 2021 12U National Team before suiting up for the 15U National Team in 2024. Two-time U.S. alum Andrew Jimenez joins the NTDP roster after two consecutive summers on the 15U National Team.
Camden Boehm, Dariel Carrion, Cooper Collins, Luke Esquivel, Jeremiah Hall, Dexter McCleon Jr., Griffin McKain, and Carter Shouse round out the 2024 15U National Team members returning to Cary for the NTDP. Cade Allen and Samir Mohammed also bring 15U National Team experience to the program after playing for Team USA in 2023, and Derek Vazquez (2021 12U) rounds out the players on the roster with national team experience.
In addition to the national team alumni coming to NTDP, 17 players who have previously participated in a USA Baseball development program will return to Cary. Luke Armijo, Junior Lopez, Mohammed, Connor Salerno, and Jack Woda all participated in the 16U/17U NTDP last summer and will make another appearance in Cary in 2025. Additionally, a trio of players who have participated at the Athlete Development Program (ADP) multiple times will make their NTDP debuts: Caden Borcherding, McKain, and Seamon.
Twenty-two states are represented on the 72-player NTDP roster in 2025. Florida leads all states with 12 representatives, followed by California with 10 and North Carolina with six. In total, 14 states have two or more representatives making the trip to Cary.
The coaching staff for the 2025 16U/17U NTDP features a mix of current high school coaches, college coaches, and former professional baseball players. Seven coaches on the staff bring at least four years of MLB playing experience, while multiple coaches have spent numerous years in the high school game and four are current college coaches. Luke Gregerson, a two-time Team USA alum who spent 11 seasons in Major League Baseball, will serve as the pitching coordinator. To see the full coaching staff, click HERE.
The NTDP roster comprises athletes who were identified from both the 2025 National Team Championships in Arizona and North Carolina, as well as players selected following last year’s National Team Identification Series (NTIS) Champions Cup. These two events serve as the primary identification events for the NTDP, in addition to recommendations from professional scouts, coaches, and the amateur baseball community.
