Tennessee’s Tegan Kuhns Named Golden Spikes Player of the Week

CARY, N.C. – Tennessee’s Tegan Kuhns pitched a complete-game shutout last weekend against conference foe and 13th-ranked Alabama en route to earning Golden Spikes Award x D1 Baseball Week 11 Player of the Week honors.

Kuhns threw eight shutout innings in the Volunteers’ 10-0 run-rule win on April 24 to give him his first career complete-game shutout. He scattered three hits and issued one walk while striking out nine batters, and impressively retired the Crimson Tide in order six times in his eight innings of work.

He improved to 3-3 on the mound this year and helped the Vols sweep a doubleheader that day to win the series.
