
CARY, N.C. – The 2026 Women’s National Team Training Camp concluded on Monday afternoon at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, as the series finale saw the Stripes secure a 10-3 victory over the Stars.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Stars opened the scoring with a run in the first inning. With two runners on, Remi Schaber stole home as the Stripes catcher attempted to throw out Valerie Perez, who stole second.
- The Stripes immediately responded in the bottom of the frame with two runs of their own. A single and hit-by-pitch put two runners on before Maggie Paulovich hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score the first run of the game for the Stripes. Maggie Foxx followed with an infield single, plating another run and giving the Stripes a 2-1 lead.
- The second inning went scoreless before the Stars added a run in the third. Amira Hondras led off with a single to right field and later scored on a Schaber sacrifice fly to right field, tying the game at 2-2.
- The Stripes answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning. A leadoff walk put the first runner on before Foxx singled her home. Back-to-back singles from Beth Greenwood and McKenna Huff loaded the bases before Gabrielle Haas hit a single to left field to score another run. Naomi Ryan then drew a walk to force in a run, and Ashanthy Marcano was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring home the final run of the inning and extend the Stripes’ lead to 6-2.
- The Stripes plated four more runs in the fourth inning. A hit-by-pitch and Amanda Gianelloni single put two runners on before a catcher’s error brought home the first run. Foxx collected her third hit of the game with an RBI single, and Greenwood followed with an RBI double. Kate Blunt capped the inning with an RBI double to left field, extending the Stripes’ lead to 10-2.
- The fifth inning went scoreless before the Stars added a run in the sixth when Hondras scored on a passed ball.
- The Stars were unable to rally in the seventh, finalizing the Stripes’ 10-3 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Foxx and Greenwood each recorded three hits, tying for the game high.
- In addition to her three hits, Foxx tallied three RBIs, the most of all batters.
- Bailey Brown and Sarah Lessig both struck out two batters, the most of all pitchers.
- Huff scored three runs, the most of all players in the game, with Marcano, Foxx, Greenwood, and Hondras behind her with two.
- Kelsie Whitmore and Elise Berger both threw a scoreless inning in the contest.
