CARY, N.C. – The Stripes defeated the Stars 8-6 in game three of 2026 Women’s National Team Training Camp on Sunday afternoon at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Stripes got on the board in the first inning, as three straight singles loaded the bases and Ashton Lansdell drew a walk to plate the first run. Kylee Lahners followed with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring another run and giving the Stripes a 2-0 lead.
• In the bottom of the frame, Olivia Pichardo reached on a walk and later scored when Remi Schaber put the ball in play and reached on an error, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
• The second inning went scoreless before the Stripes added on in the third. With two outs, Lahners doubled in Kelsie Whitmore, who reached via walk, and Gabrielle Haas followed a Maggie Paulovich single with an RBI knock of her own to make it 4-1.
• The Stars answered in the bottom of the third as a leadoff walk put a runner on before Schaber delivered an RBI single to center field, trimming the Stripes’ lead to 4-2.
• In the fourth, Sarah Lessig drew a leadoff walk and came around to score on a two-out double by Amira Hondras, bringing the Stars within one run at 4-3.
• The Stars took their first lead of the game in the fifth inning. After another leadoff walk, Schaber doubled in a run before Valerie Perez followed with an RBI single to left field, scoring Schaber and putting the Stars ahead 5-4. Anna Kimbrell later drove in a run with a groundout to third, capping the three-run inning and extending the lead to 6-4.
• The Stripes responded with a four-run sixth inning. Two leadoff singles put runners on before Ashanthy Marcano reached on an error while attempting a bunt, allowing a run to score. Amanda Gianelloni added a sacrifice fly, Naomi Ryan lined an RBI single to center, and Addy Wilson capped the rally with an RBI single to right field, giving the Stripes an 8-6 lead.
• The Stars were unable to rally in the bottom of the seventh as Stripes pitcher Meggie Meidlinger struck out the final two batters to secure the 8-6 victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Ryan, Schaber, and Perez led all hitters with two apiece.
• Meidlinger and Jillian Albayati recorded two strikeouts each, the most of all pitchers.
• Meidlinger and Niki Eckert both threw two scoreless innings in the contest.
• Ryan and Pichardo each drove in two runs, tying for the game high.
• Lahners and Schaber scored two runs each, the most of all players in the game.
