Baseball is back, and so are USA Baseball alumni! Team USA is doing it all in 2026: diving catches, no-hitters, and walk-off base knocks are all happening at the hands of our alumni. Players who have previously donned the stars and stripes are making impacts at every level, from high school to the pros. Follow along as USA Baseball’s alumni report tracks top performances on the diamond and highlight-worthy weekends from coast to coast.

WEEK OF MARCH 23

College/Prep

  • In Florida’s three-game sweep of Arkansas, Karson Bowen (2016 12U, 2018 & 2019 15U, 2021 18U) compiled six hits, drove in three runs, and scored three himself to help the Gators capture its first SEC series win.
  • Derek Curiel (2022 & 2023 18U) went on a tear this past week in LSU’s midweek game versus Louisiana Tech and weekend series against Kentucky, racking up eight hits across four games. Twice Curiel notched multi-hit outings, including a three-hit, three RBI, and three runs scored performance in Sunday’s rubber match against the Wildcats.
  • Texas’s Ashton Larson (2017 12U) came up huge for the Longhorns in their Friday night showdown against rival Oklahoma, hitting a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th to defeat the No. 8 Sooners. Larson reached base in all three of his plate appearances after entering the game in the seventh to pinch-hit.
  • Dylan Lina (2019 15U) contributed four hits and launched two homers for Long Beach State as the Dirtbags took on UC Irvine this past weekend. Lina accounted for four RBIs over the three-game stretch and scored six runs as Long Beach State dropped the series, 2-1.
  • The No. 1 ranked team in the country according to D1Baseball won its 19th straight game and Roman Martin (2022 18U) went deep twice on Sunday, as the UCLA Bruins swept the Iowa Hawkeyes in dominant fashion. Martin is now batting .343 on the season as he collected three hits and drove in six runs in Sunday’s performance.
  • It was just one of those days for Utah’s **Cal Miller (**2021 15U), who had a 2-for-3 performance in the Utes’ 13-11 win over Kansas State on March 28. Both of Miller’s hits came by way of extra bases, as he blasted a 422-foot bomb in the seventh and doubled the inning after, resulting in a three-RBI day for the freshman.
  • East Carolina’s Ethan Norby (2025 CNT) threw seven innings of one-hit ball on March 27 at UTSA with a season-high 12 strikeouts. His performance, the best of the season so far, was highlighted by an immaculate inning.

PRO

  • Royce Lewis (2014 15U, 2016 18U) is off to a hot start for the Minnesota Twins, slugging two homers across the first three games of the season including a go-ahead two-run shot against the Orioles on March 28 to lead the Twins to a 4-1 win.
  • Kevin McGonigle (2022 18U) made his debut on Opening Day and did so with a bang, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles. McGonigle instantly made an impact for the Detroit Tigers, as just a day later, he smacked a go-ahead two-run single to put the Tigers on top of the Padres, 4-2.
  • Washington Nationals third baseman Brady House (2015 12U, 2018 15U) started his second big league season strong, going 2-for-5 on Opening Day against the Cubs with a homer and two RBIs. House is batting .308 with an .895 OPS so far this season.
  • JJ Wetherholt (2203 CNT) made his big league debut on Opening Day last week and made a statement by hitting a home run for the first hit of his MLB career. He tallied three more hits in the Cardinals’ series against Tampa Bay.
  • Charlie Condon (2023 CNT) is off to a hot start with the Albuquerque Isotopes (AAA) with a .500 batting average (5-for-10) through the first three games of the season. On March 28 he made a statement with a two-homer performance with five RBIs.
  • Kevin Gausman (2009 18U, 2011 CNT) tossed six innings of one-hit ball and struck out 11 batters to earn the win against the Athletics on March 27. His total number of punch outs were just two shy of his career high.
