Trenton Native Ji’Ayir Brown to Appear at Trenton Thunder Ballpark on July 16

(Trenton, NJ) - Your Trenton Thunder, presented by NJM Insurance Group, are excited to announce that Trenton Central High School standout and Penn State safety Ji’Ayir Brown will appear at Trenton Thunder Ballpark before the team’s 6:30 game on Saturday, July 16 against the Frederick Keys. Meet and greet tickets cost only $20 and will include both a photo opportunity and autograph session with the Nittany Lions 3rd Team All-Big Ten selection.

The Trenton Thunder WILL NOT provide items to be autographed, so please bring your own to the meet and greet, which will take place between 5-6 PM. Ji’Ayir will then throw out a ceremonial first pitch before signing autographs during the game on the concourse from 6:30-7:30 PM.

A $20 ticket purchase includes one seat for the game, a Food Voucher for a hot dog, popcorn, and soda, plus access to the meet and greet with Ji’Ayir. Wrist bands for the meet and greet and food voucher can be picked up at the top of the 3rd Base Picnic Area at Trenton Thunder Ballpark.

This past season, Ji’Ayir Brown tied for first in the country with six interceptions, the most for a Penn State player since 2006. He started all 13 games at safety and ended his season with two interceptions against Arkansas in the Outback Bowl, tying a Penn State bowl record.

Before appearing in nine games during his first season in Happy Valley in 2020, Ji’Ayir was a Junior College All-American at Lackawanna Community College (PA). The Falcons combined to go 21-1 during his two seasons there and he was named to several top prospect and recruit watch lists, including ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports.

Ji’Ayir’s career started locally as a 4-year letterwinner for Head Coach Greg Hyslop at Trenton Central High School, where he was a two-year captain and a three-time 1st Team All-Conference selection. As a senior, he was named 1st Team All-State in football and was a standout defender on the basketball team, leading the entire state with close to 7 steals per game.
