(Trenton, NJ) – Your Thunder improved to 8-4 on the season and remained atop the MLB Draft League standings when they wrapped up their three-game set with State College by winning the finale 6-4 on Thursday night. The Thunder took the first lead of the night in their half of the third inning when they cashed in for two runs on three hits. After a one-out single from Chris Brito, Isaiah Drake hit a single through the hole on the right side that got Brito to third and Drake to second on the throw in from the outfield. Socrates Bardatsos plated Brito on an RBI groundout to short. Bardatsos Rider teammate Brian Skettini delivered the next at bat on an RBI single, plating Drake to make it a 2-0 game.

The Spikes would respond in the fourth inning, when left fielder Matt Bardowell laced an RBI triple down the right field line that scored Will Bush to cut the deficit in half. Right fielder Bryce Matthews tied the game on the next at bat with an RBI single to score Bardowell. State College would get one more in the fifth and in the seventh to make it a 4-2 game.

Your Thunder got some more valuable relief work out of the bullpen using five arms to combine for eight strikeouts. Picking up their first win of the season was right hander Brenton Fisher who struck out two in his one inning of work. Carlton Perkins earned his first save of the year and got the spikes to ground into a game-ending double play.
