CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today announced that Casey Scott will return to the 15U National Team staff to make his managerial debut with the program in 2025. Scott, who served as pitching coach with the 15U squad in 2023 and 2024, will guide Team USA as it prepares for international competition in August.
The assignment will mark Scott’s third coaching role with the 15U National Team in as many years and his first managerial appearance with USA Baseball.
“This is an incredible honor — both humbling and exciting. This opportunity is only possible because of the group of people I’ve had the chance to work with during my time at USA Baseball,” said Scott. “I’m extremely grateful to have worked alongside them, and they will all share in the success we achieve. I am committed to guiding this group with passion and pride. We’ll strive to reach the standard set by previous teams while blazing our own path to glory.”
“We are thrilled to have Casey as our manager in 2025 after serving on the 15U staff last summer,” said Ben Kelley, 15U National Team Program Director. “Casey’s hard work and dedication was a crucial factor in our dominant run against Australia in 2024. We know he will continue to provide the best experience for our players and staff as we look forward to competition in August.”
Last year, Scott helped lead the 15U National Team to a perfect 5-0 record throughout an International Friendship Series with Australia held in the greater Atlanta area from September 8-12. With the series sweep, the 15U squad was able to extend its winning streak to 14 games, which dates back to 2022. Under Scott’s guidance as pitching coach, Team USA’s rotation flourished as it flamed 61 strikeouts through 34.0 clean innings. The pitching staff also set five 15U National Team records with Scott at the helm including allowing the fewest hits (8), runs (0), and walks (6) in program history. Along with the fewest hits, runs, and walks, U.S. pitchers worked to a program-best 0.00 ERA throughout the series.
Scott’s involvement with USA Baseball extends far beyond his national team coaching experiences as he has held roles within development programs and educational initiatives. He has made three appearances on a development program coaching staff, first as a pitching coach at the 2019 14U National Team Development Program (NTDP), and has been part of four 15U National Team Training Camps. In addition to national team programming, Scott has assumed roles on the Task Force at various USA Baseball events.
Scott started his coaching career in 2009 at State University of New York (SUNY) Brockport after posting a 9-0 record on the mound for the Golden Eagles in two seasons as a player. In 2012, Scott served as the head coach of the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) and led his team to a title en route to being named the league’s Coach of the Year. Following his time with the NYCBL, Scott served as an assistant coach at SUNY at Cortland from 2010-2013 before landing a head coaching gig with Ave Maria University (Ave Maria, Fla.) in 2015 after slotting in as an assistant during the 2014 season. After a three-year stint with Ave Maria, Scott returned to SUNY at Cortland at the start of the 2018 season where he helped the program compile a 35-12 overall record. In 2019, he took the reins of three-time National High School Invitational (NHSI) participant Bishop Verot High School (Fort Myers, Fla.) and recently finished his seventh season. Scott led the Vikings to a 32-3 overall record and a trip to the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Final Four in 2025.
Since its inception in 2012, the 15U National Team program has won six gold medals, including a span from 2017-2019 that saw the team win three titles in a row. Its most recent gold medal was at the 2022 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-15 Baseball World Cup held in Hermosillo, Mexico.
The remainder of the coaching staff for the 2025 15U National Team, as well as details about competition for the program, will be announced at a later date.
