From high school to the pros, USA Baseball alumni were all over the baseball landscape in 2025. Team USA members provided the heartbeat for America's pastime through many crucial plays and fantastic outings. Week of June 9
Professional (June 12-18)
Mickey Moniak (2013 15U, 2015 18U) went on a tear at the plate across multiple games for the Rockies, stringing together a strong stretch against the Giants and Nationals. On June 12, he went 2-for-3 with a home run, an RBI, and two runs scored against San Francisco. He followed that with a 2-for-4 performance on June 16 versus Washington, adding another homer, two RBIs, and two more runs. Moniak capped off the series with his third home run - a ninth-inning, go-ahead shot on June 17, leading the Rockies to go 3-0 against Washington and pile up four-straight wins. Moniak’s week included a .411 batting average (7-for-17), three home runs, four RBI and six runs scored in his efforts.
(2015 12U) Alum Nick Kurtz had a monster week at the plate, including a walk-off two-run home run. Going 8-for-25 this week, with three home runs, two doubles and six RBIs, Kurtz helped lead the Athletics to a sweep over the Kansas City Royals. Then, on June 16 against the Houston Astros in a 1-1 ball game, Brent Rooker led off the inning with a walk, bringing up Kurtz with no outs in the bottom of the ninth. Battling a 2-1 count, Kurtz got all of a slider from Bobby Abreu for a 447ft two-run homer, marking the longest walk-off home run in Athletics history.

Week of June 9
College/Prep (June 9-15)
2024 Collegiate National Team alum Gabe Gaeckle was impeccable on the mound in Arkansas’ 4-1 loss to LSU on June 14. Despite the loss, Gaeckle was nearly unhittable, yielding a mere run on three hits through six innings. The sophomore sat down a season-high 10 batters in the contest while only walking one Tiger hitter. Gaeckle is up to 88 strikeouts in 2025 which is up from 57 total punchouts in his rookie campaign.
2021 18U alum Kade Anderson had a dominating opening-round performance in the College World Series. In a SEC matchup against Arkansas, Anderson worked seven solid innings of one-run baseball, allowing only three hits, which led LSU to a huge win in Omaha, taking down Arkansas 4-1, with an impressive seven strikeouts.

Week of June 2
Professional (June 5-11)
Brent Rooker (2019 Pro) had a near perfect outing for the Athletics in their game against the Angels on June 11. The slugger went 4-for-5 and mashed two homers throughout the duration of the contest, which helped him collect three RBIs. Rooker also crossed the plate on three occasions to mark a game high.
David Peterson (2016 CNT) turned in arguably the best start of his major league career against the Nationals on June 11. The southpaw notched his first career complete game, and first career complete game shutout in his efforts. Peterson struck out six and blanked the Nationals as the Mets moved to 8-0 at home when Peterson is the starter.
Andrew Abbott (2019 CNT) recorded an all-star caliber start against the Guardians on June 10. The Reds starter went the distance, securing a complete game shutout with just three hits scattered in addition to five strikeouts to blank the Guardians 1-0. It was Abbott’s first career complete game shutout as he lowered his ERA to 1.87.

College/Prep (June 2-8)
Coastal Carolina’s Caden Bodine (2024 CNT) was the driving force behind its game one win against Auburn on June 6th. Bodine went 3-for-5 at the dish, belting two home runs and driving in three RBIs. But there were none bigger than his second home run. Bodine landed the final blow, launching an absolute moon shot to give Coastal the 7-6 lead in the top of the 10th. The Chanticleers would hold the lead to secure game one and eventually punch their ticket to Omaha after a sweep of Auburn.
Florida State ace Jamie Arnold (2024 CNT) turned in another dominant effort on the mound in game two of the Corvallis Super Regional on June 7th. The southpaw posted 6.2 innings of work, racking up nine strikeouts and leaving the high-powered Oregon State offense with just one run. It was Arnold’s ninth-straight start with at least five strikeouts as he continued to climb the charts in the FSU record books. The Seminoles lone win of the Super Regional came with Arnold’s start as they were later eliminated in game three.
LSU’s Steven Milam (2016 12U, 2019 15U) put together solid back-to-back performances vs. West Virginia on June 7th and 8th. In game one, Milam would show off his strength in the fifth inning with a grand-slam home run, racking up scores that would further edge LSU to a dominating 16-9 victory. The next day for game two, Milam’s encore performance included him going 2-for-4 at the plate and ringing in another four RBI’s. Pitchers proceeded with caution as he would be walked four times in the two games. LSU would go on to beat West Virginia 12-5 to move on to the College World Series.
