Williamsport, Pa. – James McCoy singled in Carson Bayne to give the Cutters a Sudden Death Walk Off victory, sealing the series against the West Virginia Black Bears on Thursday night.

Evan Grimes took to the hill for the Cutters, giving Williamsport five innings of two-run ball. The lefty allowed five hits and struck out three before exiting in the top of the 6^th with a 2-0 deficit.

Preston Drebes allowed three runs in two-thirds of an inning in the top of the 6^th, before being relieved by Tyler Muscar. Muscar would surrender a run of his own in the top of the 7^th inning.

The Crosscutters faced a 6-0 deficit and had been held to two hits over the first six innings of the game.

In the bottom of the 7^th, the Cutters saw their first two batters retired by Black Bears reliver Rene Lastres.

Nicholas Romano punched a single through the middle setting off a domino effect for the Cutters offense.

James McCoy followed with an RBI single to score Romano, getting the Crosscutters on the board and giving Mc Coy his 30^th RBI of the season.

Matthew Williams followed with a two-run home run, his fifth of the season, to cut the deficit in half at 6-3.

After a single from Jack Kail and a walk to Nick Barone, Trey Wells launched a Reece Clapp offering to left, tying the game at 6-6. It was the first homer of the year for Wells and just his second hit of the night.

The Cutters had a golden opportunity in the 8^th inning, loading the bases with one out, but Dawson Hall was able to leave the bases jammed and the score tied.

Brody Roe gave the Cutters a scoreless frame in the top of the 9^th, helping to push the game towards the extra session.

After a perfect 9^th, Dawson Hall stayed on the mound for Sudden Death. For the second time the Cutters loaded the bases against Hall, but this time, James McCoy was able to drop a single into left, scoring Carson Bayne to give the Cutters the walk-off victory.

The win also gave the Crosscutters their 12^th series victory and improved their record to 7-4 against the Black Bears.

Williamsport hits the road Friday, opening a three-game set with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. First pitch scheduled for 7:17 p.m.
