(Trenton, NJ) - Your Trenton Thunder, presented by NJM Insurance Group, are calling on their fans to support five local community organizations as part of the Annual Good Deed Day at Trenton Thunder Ballpark on Saturday, July 25th at 6:00pm. Faith & Family Night Postgame Fireworks will follow the game.
Good Deed Day will feature collection tables on Times Square (the area outside the ballpark) for the following non-profit organizations:
- Pet Rescue of Mercer - Pet food items
- Foundation Academies Charter Schools - Gently used sports equipment
- Mercer Street Friends - Non-perishable food
- Younity - Personal care items
- Rescue Mission of Trenton - Lightly used or new clothing and shoes
As a special thank you, fans who donate to the local organizations gathered on the ballpark approach will receive a wristband to watch the postgame fireworks from the field. Please note: Fans will receive ONE wristband per donated item to ensure fairness and allow as many generous fans as possible to participate.
We will be capping the total amount of wristbands given out at 200. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and make their donations before supplies run out. Following the game, fans with wristbands should head to the end of the stands on the 3rd base side near the NJM Picnic Area to be let onto the field by Thunder staff.
Field Access Rules: No food, drinks, or alcohol are permitted on the field. Additionally, no blankets or chairs will be allowed.
- Pet Rescue of Mercer will be at the ballpark collecting pet food. They are an all-volunteer non-profit group that rescues neglected, abused, and abandoned animals and finds quality homes for them.
- Foundation Academy, a highly-ranked public charter school in Trenton focused on college preparation and core values, will be collecting gently used sports equipment for their students.
- Mercer Street Friends, an organization dedicated to nourishing minds and bodies and empowering families, will collect non-perishable food items to address food insecurity in Mercer County.
- Younity (formerly Womanspace) will be collecting personal care items. Their mission is to prevent abuse, protect families, and change lives through empowerment and a safety net of supportive services.
- Rescue Mission of Trenton, an agency that provides a safe, clean, and warm refuge for those experiencing homelessness and hunger, will be collecting lightly used or new clothing to help those with nowhere else to turn.
