Makenzie Kellogg of Bellefonte, who started her MLB Pitch Hit & Run journey by winning the 11-12 Softball division at a local competition at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, took the overall division championship at the MLB Pitch Hit & Run Finals held this past Sunday at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Makenzie bested four other finalists as she took her cuts in the same Rogers Centre batter's boxes that Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Shohei Ohtani and Tommy Edman did at the previous night's Game 2 of the World Series, and was able to throw and run on the same turf.
After qualifying by winning at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park in June, Kellogg punched her ticket to the Finals at the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport in August with a score of 1,155 points.
Prior to competing in the Finals, Makenzie was honored during Game 2 of the World Series at Rogers Centre along with the other finalists across all eight divisions.
Congratulations, Makenzie!
