Host Family Program

Open your home to the future stars of baseball this summer by hosting a member of the State College Spikes!

The State College Spikes are looking for volunteers to help players transition into a new community for the upcoming season with the Host Family Program. For nearly two decades, our host families have been the bedrock of offering future major leaguers their best experience here in Happy Valley. We have had 70 major leaguers start their Road to the Show right here with the Spikes, with more on the way and they have forged lasting relationships as they make their way to the big leagues.

In order to show our appreciation for opening your home to players for the season, families will receive a newly enhanced compensation package, including tickets for every Spikes home game this season.

Also, if you refer a family to us that commits to the program and hosts a player the entire season, you will receive a referral bonus at the end of the season.

The enjoyment of helping a young ballplayer can be tremendously gratifying for volunteer hosts. Players from all walks of life will be coming to State College, most for the first time, and participants in the Spikes' Host Family Program can help these young men enjoy their stay in Happy Valley.
