Now 18 games into the second-half of the 2025 MLB Draft League season and the bats were hot across the league this week with 13 home runs from 12 players. Below, we take a look at a prospect from each team who has provided a steady dose of offensive production through the first 2+ weeks of the second half.
Judah Morris, 1B, West Virginia - The beat goes on for Morris who continues to bang the ball around the yard with two home runs in his full return to action. After a week-long hiatus following a multi-home run game, Morris returned to deliver a pinch-hit walk-off in the sudden death extra inning with a 105-mph single. Five days later he would return to the starting lineup to kick off the prior week that saw him be named Hitter of the Week after another multi-homer performance in a 4-for-5 day. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound slugger brings a rare combination of power and plate control for any level of baseball.
Devan Bade, 2B, Frederick- Fresh off a .352/.430/.598 senior season at Binghamton that also included 15 doubles and 13 home runs, the 22-year-old hit two walk off winners in three days for the Keys. In 18 draft league games the 5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitter is batting .318 with a .420 OBP and 16 RBI. His compact, line drive swing has produced a season EV max of 98.4 mph with a max distance of 384 feet. Bade uses all fields, hits all pitch types equally well and is especially skilled at driving the curveball the other way.
Carson Hornung, 1B, Mahoning Valley- The 21-year-old from Jacksonville State has begun his Draft League career on fire batting .366 with 19 RBI in 21 games. In 82 at-bats, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound left-handed hitter sets up with an upright stance and uses all fields. Heβs produced a max EV of 107.7 mph and has sweet-spotted 15 batted balls over 95 mph. Heβs produced consistent line drives at a 33% clip. Seeing most of his time at first base, Hornung moves well for his size and has also patrolled a couple games in left field. Overall, heβs committed just two errors in 153 chances.
Jackson Mayo, OF, Williamsport- The 22-year-old outfielder is a top speed/power producer in his second stint with the Crosscutters. A four-year starter at South Florida, the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder has hit three home runs and stolen 11 bases to go along with a .406 average and .672 SLG. The lefthanded hitter starts slightly open in the box and wants to pull, giving him some vulnerability on the outer edge, but overall he manages the zone well with a 93rd percentile chase rate of just 9.2%. Even more impressive is his ability to drive the ball with a max exit velocity of 108.6 mph, a hard hit rate of 43.6% and is coming off of a week with nine balls in play hit over 100 mph. Defensively, heβs played 14 games in left field and has not committed an error in 21 chances.
Alex Ungar, OF, West Virginia- Another draft leaguer who combines power and speed, Ungar is a 23-year-old outfielder from Sacred Heart who entered the end of July/beginning of August as Hitter of the Week. After an excellent senior season for the Pioneers, batting .359 with 13 home runs and 31 stolen bases, heβs been a highlight reel of sorts so far in the Draft League. His delayed steal of home on Friday after round-tripping earlier in the contest highlighted both of these abilities. Ungar currently leads the Black Bears in OPS (1.054), SLG (.623), stolen bases (10) and is second in home runs (3). The 6-foot-3, 195-pound righthanded hitter consistently gets to his power with a hard hit rate of 61.5% against the fastball. Heβs found the sweet spot for a max EV of 107.1 mph and an EV 90 of 105.5. Defensively, heβs an above average defender who has split time between right field and center field and has not committed an error in 20 chances.
Cameron Yuran, OF, Trenton- A four-year starter at Metro State, the 22-year-old outfielder belted 61 round-trippers over his career for the Roadrunners. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound left-handed hitter is showing the same type of production in the league. With a balanced swing Yuran hits the ball where itβs pitched and uses all fields. The early results have been a .500 BABIP thatβs produced a .373 average with a .529 SLG and six XBHs in his first 16 games. Defensively, the corner outfielder has yet to commit an error in 19 chances and has even flashed the leather ranging towards the left field line to take away a run.
Adonis Forte, OF, State College- Forte had a brilliant senior season at DII Rockhurst, posting an OPS over 1.000 and led the team with 24 extra-base hits. The left-handed hitting outfielder has carried that into the leadoff spot for the Spikes with more than a hit per-game, 21 in 16 games, for a .323 average. Not only does he make contact, but he makes hard contact, currently boasting a Hard-Hit% of 37% and max EV of 106.3 mph. Forte has five extra-base hits, aided by his speed where heβs also grabbed eight stolen bases. Forteβs value comes with his ability to get on-base (.421 OBP) and his speed which allows him to excel on the bases and in centerfield, where heβs spent 67% of his time this summer.
