Cutters Fall In Walk-Off

Road Game - State College (9)

University Park, PA – The Williamsport Crosscutters allowed a run in the bottom of the ninth as they fall to the State College Spikes in walk-off fashion, 8-7, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The Cutters found themselves down early to the Spikes as they allowed three runs in the bottom of the first. The Cutters showed some life in the second as Isaiah Byars tripled with one out and came home to score on an EJ Taylor single, making the game 3-1.

That would stay the score until the sixth inning as after back-to-back walks to Mason Minzey and Freddy Rojas Jr., EJ Taylor would play hero yet again. Taylor tripled to center bringing home both runners and tying the game at 3-3.

After allowing the Spikes to retake the lead in the bottom of the inning, the Cutters came storming right back. Brayland Skinner singled to lead off the inning. After a flyout, Mason Minzey singled which put runners on first and second. After another flyout, Freddy Rojas Jr. walked to load the bases. Isaiah Byars would clear the bases with his second triple of the game giving the Cutters a 6-5 lead. That lead would grow as Byars would come into score on a wild pitch, scoring the final Cutters run.

The Cutters allowed the Spikes to tie the game in the bottom of the inning and allowed a run to cross in the bottom of the ninth to lose to State College 8-7.
