Williamsport, P.A. – The Cutters were held to three hits in their 12-2 loss to Trenton, as they were swept in the two-game series.
Brent Francisco got off to a great start, using his defense to face the minimum through the first three innings.
Jacob Harper threw out two would be base runners in those three innings, but things came apart for the big right-hander in the 4th inning.
After retiring the lead off man, the next five Thunder batters recorded a hit, with two being doubles, as Trenton took a 4-0 lead in the frame.
The Crosscutters in the bottom of the 3rd had their best chance to break open the scoring, loading the bases with out. Jacob Corson tapped back to the mound, starting the inning ending 1-2-3 double play.
Francisco would bounce back in the 5th with a three-up-three-down inning, but allowed an unearned run in the 6th before getting relived in the 7th.
Brett Thomas allowed a run in his inning of relief. Drew Clark was tagged for five runs, including a three-run homer in his inning of relief. Will Binder, allowed a run in his inning of relief as the Thunder scored seven runs against the Cutters bullpen.
Jacob Corson got the Cutters on the board in the 8th inning, smoking a RBI triple to right-center, scoring Levi Perrell, to give Corson his 15th RBI of the season.
McGwire Holbrook plated Corson with a sacrifice fly, giving him his 25th RBI of the year.
The Cutters hit the road to start a lengthy road trip, with the first three games in Frederick against the Keys on Monday night.
