FIREWORKS From the Field Returns for Last Three Shows of 2025
The State College Spikes and FIREWORKS in the summertime have gone hand-in-hand since the club first hit Happy Valley in 2006. Now, fans who arrive early to the game can enjoy these dazzling spectaculars from a unique vantage point as FIREWORKS From the Field returns for each of the three remaining shows on the 2025 home schedule.

Starting with the FIREWORKS presented by College Township, celebrating the 150th Anniversary of College Township, on Saturday, August 9, the first 150 fans in the ballpark at each remaining FIREWORKS night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park this season will get to come down onto the field to see the skies light up at the end of the game with each of these special presentations from the Spikes and their official FIREWORKS provider, Starfire Corporation. The first 150 fans will each receive a voucher as they enter, giving them the opportunity to watch the FIREWORKS From the Field.

The last three FIREWORKS shows of the 2025 season will be as follows:
• Saturday, August 9 – FIREWORKS presented by College Township
• Saturday, August 23 – FIREWORKS provided by Starfire Corporation
• Thursday, August 28 – FIREWORKS FINALE presented by Starfire Corporation

Katie Schumacher-Cawley Bobblehead Giveaway presented by Happy Valley Live & Appearance/Guy Gadowsky Bobblehead Giveaway presented by Centre Dental Care by Dr. Carnicella
On Sunday, August 10, we celebrate Katie Schumacher-Cawley, the first female coach ever to lead a team to the NCAA women’s volleyball national championship and the recipient of the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at the 2025 ESPYs, appropriately enough on Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State Night.

“Coach Katie” inspired the nation as she fought and overcame cancer while winning the title, and the first 1,000 fans at the game on Sunday will receive a bobblehead of this extraordinary hero, presented by Happy Valley Live. Gates will open to the public at 5:30 p.m., with early entrance for Spikes Season Ticket holders and groups.

In addition to the bobblehead, “Coach Katie” will be on hand herself at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park to meet and greet fans, sign autographs, and join the celebration.

Then, fresh off the program’s first-ever Frozen Four and with a season full of high hopes ahead, Penn State men’s ice hockey head coach Guy Gadowsky will bring his signature look to his bobblehead, presented by Centre Dental Care by Dr. Carnicella, giving the first 1,000 fans at the Spikes’ regular season home finale on Thursday, August 28 something to really sink their teeth into.

Gates will open to the public at 5:30 p.m., with early entrance for Spikes Season Ticket holders and groups.

Yellowstone Night
You’ll feel like you’re on Dutton Ranch on Friday, August 8 with Yellowstone Night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spikes will pay homage to the hit TV show by wearing special Yellowstone Theme Jerseys, which will go up for bids in a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction presented by PSECU to benefit Children’s Miracle Network, with all bidding on the LiveSource app. In addition, the Spikes 50/50 Drawing that night will benefit Children’s Miracle Network.

Elgses Night
Saturday, August 23 spells a celebration of super proportions with Elgses Night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spikes will take flight as the E-L-G-S-E-S as, with a wink and a nod to the alternative letter arrangements proposed by Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker and the Philly fan featured on the FOX pregame show on Super Sunday, both of whom are invited to participate in the festivities in good fun, the Elgses will wear classic Kelly green uniforms emblazoned with the name we all know and love, which will go up for bids in a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction, with proceeds benefiting both the Eagles Autism Foundation and the Central PA Autism Community. Bidding will take place on the LiveSource app in the leadup to and during the game.

The array of fun also includes a Kelly green Elgses T-Shirt for the first 260 fans, and speaking of #26, we’ll honor “Sayshawn” Barkley and his all-time record 2,504 total rushing yards between the regular season and postseason by honoring one fan as the commemorative 2,504th fan at the game and gifting them a special commemorative jersey.

There’s a ton more Philly-centric activities, including a Philadelphia-Themed Spelling Bee - find them all at https://www.mlbdraftleague.com/state-college/news/spikes-to-take-flight-as-e-l-g-s-e-s-on-saturday-aug-23.

Bark in the Park III
The Spikes have one more opportunity for fans to bring their pup to the ballpark with Bark in the Park III on Friday, August 8, the same night as Yellowstone Night. Fans can take in the game with their pooch and have plenty of four-legged fun with Dugout the Baseball Dog and all of the canines on hand.

Spikes Dog Bowls presented by Stuckey Mitsubishi
Beyond Bark in the Park, Spikes fans can also help our local canine pals at every remaining Spikes home game with Spikes Dog Bowls presented by Stuckey Mitsubishi. Fans can order Pawchos at select concession stands in these special bowls throughout the season, with a portion of each purchase benefiting Centre County PAWS.

These paw-shaped bowls can be filled up with Pawchos at the Flashpoint Grille behind Section 103 and the Salsa stand on the Right Field Fun Deck. Pawchos are a delicious combination of tortilla chips, nacho cheese, jalapeños and pico de gallo that are sure to put that dog in you.
Once you’ve finished your Pawchos, or you just have a sweet canine tooth, head to the Sweet stand behind section 304 next to Ike’s Kids Zone for World Famous Grilled Stickies or a Hot Fudge Brownie with hand-dipped or soft-serve ice cream in a special sundae.

Paint the Park Purple
Fans can join in the fight against Alzheimer's Disease on Sunday, August 24 with Paint the Park Purple presented by Juniper Village at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The night will feature a Purple T-Shirt Giveaway, and all fans are encouraged to wear purple to the ballpark as we raise funds and awareness for the fight against Alzheimer's along with starting the drive towards the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in the fall of 2025.

Sylly Day
The second and final day game on the Spikes’ 2025 home schedule is coming up on Monday, August 25, when we’ll have a Sylly Day at the ballpark. The game that day will take place at the special time of 11:11 a.m., and will coincide with the first day of classes for Penn State University’s fall semester.

Hospitality Appreciation Night
The Spikes will salute the hospitality workers who keep Happy Valley running on Monday, August 4 with Hospitality Night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Hospitality workers will be able to pick up free tickets for the 6:35 p.m. game that night and the Spikes will join The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau to present a variety of tributes to some very special people during the night.

College Township Night
Our home township, College Township, celebrates its 150th Anniversary in 2025, and to mark the occasion, College Township Night on Saturday, August 9 will be chock full of history, heritage and fun! The night will be capped off by a spectacular FIREWORKS show that will light up the skies over College Township!

Season Ticket Holders Batting Practice
The Spikes invite our Season Ticket holders to join us on Saturday, August 9 to come out and take their swings just like the MLB Draft League First Half Champions! Season Ticket holders will also be able to head out to their favorite position and show off their defensive range while others are at the plate!
