Your MLB Draft League First Half Champion State College Spikes are finishing a week-long homestand with a bang this weekend in a trio of jam-packed nights at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park! Don't miss out on any of the fun, with all three games set for 6:35 p.m. starts. The Mahoning Valley Scrappers provide the opposition on Friday, with the Trenton Thunder in Saturday and Sunday.
It all begins Friday as you’ll feel like you’re on Dutton Ranch with Yellowstone Night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spikes will pay homage to the hit TV show by wearing special Yellowstone Theme Jerseys, which are now up for bids in a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction presented by PSECU to benefit Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville. All bidding is available on the LiveSource app now through 8 p.m. on Friday night. In addition, the Spikes 50/50 Drawing on Friday night will benefit Children’s Miracle Network.
Plus, it’s the third and final Bark in the Park of the season, as fans can bring their favorite pup to the game to join Dugout the Baseball Dog for four-legged fun throughout the night!
Saturday, we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of College Township with FIREWORKS after the game presented by College Township, and the first 150 fans in the ballpark at Saturday's game, as well as each remaining FIREWORKS night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park this season, will get to come down onto the field to see the skies light up at the end of the game thanks to the Spikes and their official FIREWORKS provider, Starfire Corporation. The first 150 fans will each receive a voucher as they enter, giving them the opportunity to watch the FIREWORKS From the Field.
After Saturday's show the last two FIREWORKS shows of the 2025 season will be as follows:
• Saturday, August 23 – FIREWORKS provided by Starfire Corporation
• Thursday, August 28 – FIREWORKS FINALE presented by Starfire Corporation
Plus, the fun of College Township Night includes a $3 off ticket discount for College Township residents, a College Township 150th Anniversary Poster Giveaway, 150 T-Shirts, College Township Trivia on the concourse, 150 free hot dogs and 150 free ice cream dishes, with all giveaways taking place at the College Township table on the concourse.
Then on Sunday, we celebrate Katie Schumacher-Cawley, the first female coach ever to lead a team to the NCAA women’s volleyball national championship and the recipient of the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at the 2025 ESPYs, appropriately enough on Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State Night.
“Coach Katie” inspired the nation as she fought and overcame cancer while winning the title, and the first 1,000 fans at the game on Sunday will be guaranteed to receive a bobblehead of this extraordinary hero, presented by Happy Valley Live. Gates C and D will open to the public at 5:30 p.m., with early entrance for Spikes Season Ticket holders through Gate A at 5:20 p.m. and groups through Gate B at 5:25 p.m.
In addition to the bobblehead, “Coach Katie” will be on hand herself at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park to meet and greet fans, sign autographs, and join the celebration.
