Parliment Homers In Loss

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Joey Parliment’s first home run of the season was the highlight of the Crosscutters offense, as Williamsport fell 8-3 to the Trenton Thunder on Wednesday night.

Colton Cosper was impressive in his Crosscutters debut, working five strong innings. The Lefty out of Mercer allowed one run, striking out eight in the no decision.

Joey Parliment’s home run came in the bottom of the 4th inning, sending a Luke Delongchamp offering 405-feet over the wall in left-center. The two-run shot, his first of the season, gave the Cutters their only lead of the night at 3-2.

Trenton was able to retake the lead for good in the top of the 6th inning, striking for two runs against Cutters reliever, Holland Townes. Townes suffered the loss, his first of the season.

The Thunder would tack on in the top of the 7th inning, crossing five more runs against Cutters reliever, Isaac Fix. Fix allowed all five runs (four earned) over two-thirds of an inning.

Williamsport added their final run of the night on a RBI double from Carlos Castillo, scoring Parliament. It was the third double of the year for Castillo, who picked up his third RBI.

The Crosscutters look to get their first win of the second half Thursday night, facing off against the Thunder. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

Cutters Carvings: The Crosscutters have now lost a franchise-worst, 12-straight games… Williamsport is 7-8 at home in 2025… At 405 feet, Parliment’s home run is tied for the second-longest by a Crosscutter this season…
