Draft League Alumni Report - AFL (16x9)

As calendars prepare to flip to November, the 2025 Arizona Fall League is heading into its home stretch with the Home Run Derby and Fall Stars Game looming in ten days, followed by the postseason beginning on Nov. 15.

Three quarters of the way through the AFL, Owen Ayers and Charlie Pagliarini are both top ten in league OPS while Carlson Reed’s 1.80 ERA is good for third among pitchers with 10+ innings.

The third Arizona Fall League Alumni Report covers all 21 former players in the league with 19 of those taking the field over the past week.

Glendale Desert Dogs

RHP D.J. Carpenter (STL, Frederick ‘22):

In the past week, Carpenter faced only one batter and did so handedly as he earned a strikeout on five pitches, earning himself a hold. In five games this fall, the Cardinals’ prospect has struck out five batters.

LHP Jacob Kroeger (ATL, State College ‘24):

Kroeger had one outing this past week of 1 1/3 innings where he surrendered his first hits and runs of the fall after putting together two games (three innings) without allowing a hit or run with five strikeouts.

Fall: 3 G, 4.1 IP, 5 K, 5 H, 5 ER, 3 BB

RHP Chen-Wei Lin (STL, Frederick ‘23):

The Cardinals’ 16th ranked prospect by MLB Pipeline suffered his first loss of the fall, unable to get out of the second inning with four earned runs. Despite the performance, Lin still ranked tied for first in wins (two), tied for 13th in strikeouts (11) and tied for 18th in batting average against (.222) amongst all qualified pitchers in the AFL.

Fall: 3 GS, 2-1, 7.1 IP, 11 K, 6 H, 4/5 E/R, 5 BB

INF Sam Antonacci (CWS, West Virginia ‘22):

The White Sox 11th ranked prospect by MLB Pipeline was recently highlighted as one of week three’s top performers, where in the span covered, he hit .692. Since the last Alumni Report, Antonacci has appeared in three games for Glendale with three hits, two RBI and two stolen bases.

Week: 3 G, .300/.462/.300 (.762 OPS), 2 RBI, R, 3 BB, 2 SB

Fall: 13 G, .333/.452/.490 (.942 OPS), 2 HR, 2 2B, 10 RBI, 12 R, 11 BB, 9 SB

Mesa Solar Sox

RHP Mark Adamiak (ATH, State College ‘22):

The Athletics’ 2022 draft selection closed out his third game of the fall with two strikeouts in the ninth on Tuesday. He also struck out one in one inning on Thursday, Oct. 23.

Week: 2 G, 2 IP, 3 K, 2 H, 2 ER, 3 BB

Fall: 5 G, 1 SV, 5 IP, 7 K, 4 H, 3 ER, 5 BB

RHP Mason Auer (TB, Frederick ‘21):

Making his fifth appearance on the bump, Auer faced three batters and struck out one to register a hold in the Solar Sox’ 11-10 victory on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Week: G, 0.2 IP, 1 K, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB

Fall: 5 G, 3 IP, 5 K, 7 H, 6 ER, 4 BB

RHP Corey Avant (ATH, State College ‘23):

Avant continued to work out of the bullpen for Mesa with one appearance of two innings where he struck out one, surrendering two hits and two earned runs.

Week: G, 2 IP, 1 K, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 BB

Fall: 4/2 G/S, 7.2 IP, 10 K, 13 H, 9 ER, 6 BB

LHP Jack Sellinger (MIA, Mahoning Valley ‘23):

Sellinger returned to action on Sunday, Oct. 26 with one inning of work with two strikeouts, allowing one earned run on a hit. The former Scrapper was recently highlighted by MLB Pipeline averaging the most spin on his breaking ball with a 3218 rpm curveball.

Fall: 3 G, 3 IP, 5 K, 5 H, 4/5 E/R, 2 BB

C Owen Ayers (CHC, State College ‘22):

After a slower Week 2, Ayers put together just as impressive of a week as he did when he took home Hitter of the Week honors. Recording one RBI in each of his last three games, the Cubs’ switch-hitting prospect had put together his first four-hit game of the Fall on Sunday, Oct. 26, with a double. On two instances in the past week, he drew three walks.

Fall: 13 G, .395/.559/.628 (1.187 OPS), 2 HR, 4 2B, 11 RBI, 10 R, 15 BB, SB

Peoria Javelinas

LHP Sayer Diederich (BAL, West Virginia ‘24):

Diederich put together a perfect outing in his one game this past week through one inning, with one strikeout, no hits and no walks.

Fall: 4 G, 4.2 IP, 4 K, 2 H, 1/2 E/R, 3 BB

3B Charlie Pagliarini (SEA, Trenton ‘23):

The Mariners’ 2023 draft pick collected a hit in three of his last four games including a 109.7 mph triple on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Across 10 games in the Fall, Pagliarini has collected at least one hit in seven games.

Week: 4 G, .250/.375/.417 (.792 OPS), 3B, RBI, 2 R, 3 BB

Fall: 10 G, .333/.419/.556 (.975 OPS), HR, 3 2B, 3B, 5 RBI, 7 R, 6 BB, 3 SB

Salt River Rafters

RHP Joshua Loeschorn (PIT, Trenton ‘21):

Pirates pitching prospect Joshua Loeschorn appeared in one game this past week and struck out one batter for the River Rafters.

Fall: 5/1 G/S, 7.2 IP, 7 ER, 15 H, 1 BB, 3 K

RHP Carlson Reed (PIT, West Virginia ‘21/23):

Another pitching prospect out of the Pirates organization, Reed turned in another strong four-inning outing for Salt River. The right-hander pitched the final four frames on Wednesday, allowing just one run and lowering his ERA to 1.80 through ten Fall League innings.

Week: G, 4 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 3 K

Fall: 3/1 G/S, W, 10 IP, 1.80 ERA, 7 H, 7 BB, 9 K, 3 GIDP

OF Stanley Tucker (BOS, Williamsport ‘23):

Tucker headed into the week carrying a five-game hit-streak and was able to extend that to seven games before going 0-for-3 on Oct. 28. Despite losing the hit streak, the Red Sox prospect has reached base in all 15 games he has played.

Scottsdale Scorpions

RHP Austin Amaral (WAS, Trenton ‘23):

The Washington Nationals prospect has settled in after his first two appearances, allowing just one run over his past three outings and 3 2/3 innings. Heading into his outing last Thursday, Amaral had retired eight straight batters.

Fall: 5 G, 5.1 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 6 BB, 5 K

OF Joseph Sullivan (HOU, Williamsport ‘23):

Sullivan, the Astros No. 6 prospect, has been one of the MLB Draft League’s top positional alumni in this year’s Arizona Fall League. The former Crosscutters outfielder reached base four times in three games and went 1-for-4 with a double, walk and three RBIs on Wednesday.

Fall: 9 G, .286/.395/.371, 3B, 2B, 10 RBI, 9 R, 6 BB, HBP, 5 SB

RHP Nate Wohlgemuth (HOU, Williamsport ‘23):

Last appearance on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Fall: 4 G, 3.1 IP, SV, 6 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 3 K

SS Jeron Williams (HOU, West Virginia ‘21):

Williams, an inaugural MLB Draft League player, reached base twice this week in his lone game for the Rafters, collecting a hit and hit by pitch. On the defensive side, the middle infielder has handled second base this fall for Scottsdale.

Fall: 9 G, 4 H, 2B, 6 R, 3 RBI, 4 BB, HBP, 2 SB

Surprise Saguaros

RHP Daniel Harper (PHI, State College ‘22):

Harper had a pair of scoreless appearances out of the Saguaros bullpen, retiring five of the six batters he faced while issuing just one walk. The Phillies right-handed pitching prospect struck out two on the week and is now striking out more than one batter per inning.

C Ben Hartl (TEX, West Virginia ‘22):

Last appearance on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Fall: 5 G, 2 H, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R, BB, 3 HBP, SF

RHP L.P. Langevin (KC, West Virginia ‘23):

The former Black Bear took the mound twice this week and did not surrender a run over 2 1/3 innings, keeping his 0.00 ERA intact through 4 1/3 innings. In his second outing, Langevin went 1 1/3 innings and all four outs came from the strikeout.
