McIntosh’s Two RBI Aids Cutters Win

Williamsport, PA - Hogan McIntosh’s two RBI was backed by solid pitching as the Crosscutters took a 5-3 decision and effectively took the series from the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

Aaron Rogers took the hill for the Cutters and was stellar, tossing a pair of perfect frames, striking out a pair. He featured a fastball that clocked in at 98 MPH.

Braden Nett took over in the top of the 3rd inning for the Cutters and worked a pair of scoreless frames, working around a hit and a walk, striking out two. He earned the win, improving to 2-1.

The Cutters struck for three in the bottom of the 3rd inning, as McIntosh picked up his first RBI with a triple to center. McIntosh was then plated by an RBI single from Logan Flood to cap the scoring and give Williamsport a 3-0 lead.

Mahoning Valley found the scoreboard in the top of the 6th inning against Cutters reliever Sal Fusco, who allowed two runs on one hit and three walks over two innings of work.

Williamsport got those runs back in the bottom of the 7th inning, using an RBI single from McIntosh and Daniel Harris to up their lead to 5-2.

The Scrappers were able to plate a run against Conner Fenlong in the top of the 8th , but that would be the final run for Mahoning Valley.

Antonio Escano tossed a three-up three-down inning in the top of the 9th, earning his first save of the season.

The Crosscutters head to Trenton for a three-game series with the Thunder starting tomorrow.
