Trenton, NJ – After two straight upset wins, the Williamsport Crosscutters’ magic ran out on Thursday night at Trenton Thunder Ballpark as they fall to the Trenton Thunder by a final score of 4-1.

McGwire Holbrook had the lone RBI for Williamsport with a single in the second inning that scored Ali LaPread to give Williamsport their only lead of the game at 1-0. LaPread, along with Cory Taylor, Mark Shallenberger and Mitch McCabe accounted for the rest of the Crosscutters five hits in the game.

Emmett Bice suffered the loss on the hill in his start tonight, falling to 1-4 this season after 5.1 innings of work that saw him allow two runs, both earned, with two walks, one hit batter, and six strikeouts.

Brett Thomas was first out of the bullpen for the Cutters, shutting out the Thunder is 1.2 innings of relief allowing two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

Parker Kruglewicz closed out the game on the mound, going the final inning allowing two runs, both earned, on three hits with no walks and one strikeout.

Williamsport now returns home to begin the final six regular season games of the 2024 season, starting with a three-game series against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. First pitch on Friday night is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. from Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.

Friday's game is the final Potato Capers Friday of 2024, presented by Bower Electric and the Potato Capers Sock Giveaway presented by UPMC. It's also the Cutters Cruise Giveaway presented by AAA Travel and KISS 102.7, along with Jersey Shore Community Night presented by All Round Tie, Gunzey's at Bald Birds, Pizza 2 Go, R&S Auto Sales and Scherer Appliances.

Saturday is another Post-Game Fireworks Show presented by the Army National Guard, Genesee Beer, The Pennsylvania Lottery, UPMC, WZXR, The Quality Inn, and ZY Pyrotechnics and our "It All Begins In Billtown" Pin Giveaway presented by Pin Queen Productions.

Sunday we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Williamsport Bureau of Fire. It's also Baseball Bingo presented by Shop-Vac and SK Tools, Kids Run The Bases presented by Commonwealth Charter Academy, Senior Loggers Club Day presented by UPMC, and Boomer's Kids Club Day presented by the KAOS Fun Zone at the Liberty Arena.

Game times on Friday and Saturday are 6:35 p.m. and Sunday at 4:05 p.m.

The homestand then continues with a three-game commuter series against the State College Spikes on Monday through Wednesday.

Monday is Free Hot Dog Monday at Journey Bank Ballpark, presented by Country Store Brand Meats.

Tuesday the series shifts to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for the State College Spikes' home finale.

Wednesday we return to Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field as it's Fan Appreciation Night presented by WILQ, Kids Eat Free presented by GIANT Food Stores, Hump Day Happy Hour, and Columbia & Montour Counties Night presented by PB&J Bar and Pepsi.

Monday is a special Labor Day 1:05 p.m. first pitch with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The 2024 season wraps up in grand fashion on Thursday, September 5th as the Crosscutters take on the Second Half Champions in the 2024 MLB Draft League Championship Game, presented by UPMC, Anter's On The Water, Webb Weekly and Backyard Broadcasting. There will be a Rally Towel Giveaway for the first 1,200 fans presented by Weis Markets and WILQ, Post-Game Fireworks presented by UPMC, Antler's On The Water, Webb Weekly, and Backyard Broadcasting, and it's a Thirsty Thursday with drink specials until 8pm. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
