WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - For the first time this season, the Crosscutters failed to score a run, falling 5-0 in the series finale against the Frederick Keys.
The Cutters had plenty of opportunities to get a run across, seeing at least one base runner in every inning. Williamsport stranded 12 runners in the losing effort.
Cooper Markham suffered the loss in his MLB Draft League debut, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks, over three innings of work. Markham, who did not allow a home run during his High School season in 2025, allowed a solo home run in the 1st inning to Dawson Willis.
Reliever, Dylan Alonso, had the best night for the Cutters staff, working three, shutout innings of relief. Alonso struck out six Keys batters, allowing two hits and a walk.
Command alluded the Cutters staff, including Dakota Stone, who allowed three runs over two-thirds of an inning. The lefty surrendered four walks and two hits in his outing.
The Crosscutters hit the road for a weekend series against the West Virginia Black Bears. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
