
*Frederick, MD– *The Keys won in a landslide victory over the Williamsport Cross Cutters on Tuesday night 26-6, scoring half of their total runs in the bottom of the 5th inning.
Dalton Ponce threw 4 scoreless innings and struck out 7 batters in his appearance on Tuesday night. In the fifth inning he gave up 5 hits and 3 runs, but overall pitched a gem throwing 98 pitches, 64 of them for strikes.
The Keys offense shone throughout the game, scoring in 5 of their 8 offensive innings. Throughout the night, the Keys had 6 doubles hit by: Hernan Yanez, Trenton Jamison, Hylan Hall, Zaid Walker, Kirkland Banks, and Roberto Pena. Hall also hit a triple and Logan Thomason hit a 3-run home run in the 7th inning. Overall, the Keys offense put up 26 runs, 23 hits, 9 walks, and accrued only 1 strike out.
The Williamsport Crosscutters had a total of 10 hits on the night, 5 for extra bases including a 2-run home run by Jalen Greer in the top of the 6th inning, his first of the season.
