The Frederick Keys, in partnership with the City of Frederick (the City) and the Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA), hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking today to celebrate the commencement of a transformative $39 million renovation project at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. The ceremony marks a significant milestone following the project’s official announcement on August 30, 2024.
The event welcomed distinguished guests, including Maryland Stadium Authority Executive Director Michael Frenz, City of Frederick Mayor Michael O’Connor, and Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, among other stakeholders who played a crucial role in making these renovations possible.,
Originally opened in 1990, Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium has been a central fixture of Frederick’s sports and cultural landscape for more than three decades. The planned upgrades will bring enhancements to both player and fan experiences, including new home and visiting clubhouses, state-of-the-art batting cages, new bullpens, an expanded concourse, and additional fan seating options. While the renovations are primarily designed to support the Frederick Keys and meet Major League Baseball standards, the team is also exploring ways to activate the stadium year-round, offering new opportunities for community use during the offseason.
