KEYS FINAL SCORE MW 7-8

*Frederick, MD– *The Keys used a stellar pitching performance on Saturday night to carry themselves to their first win of the second half, 3-0 over Williamsport, to even the weekend set.

James Deloatch started on the mound, and despite allowing two baserunners in each of the first two innings, did not allow a run. In the first inning, Isaiah Bowers attempted to steal third, but a perfect throw to third base by Deloatch caught him.

In the bottom of the third inning, Alec Sanchez scorched a solo home run over the right field wall, which registered at 105.9 mph off the bat, breaking the scoreless tie.

James Deloatch retired the last nine he faced, and finished his night with five scoreless innings of two hit baseball, striking out eight in the process.

The Keys put two more across in the fifth inning. With runners on the corners and Casey Yamauchi taking off on the pitch from first, a slow chopper to third base led to a low throw to first base that skipped to the wall, allowing Yamauchi to come all the way around to score, giving the Keys a 3-0 lead.

Kyle Salley and Matthew Maldonado combined with four more scoreless innings in relief, with Maldonado locking down the save.

The Keys will look to win the rubber match on Sunday with a 1:00 PM start.
