FREDERICK, MD – 2024 infielder Peyton Holt became the latest Keys player to finalize a professional contract this week after signing a Minor League contract with the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday.

Holt, who made his Minor League debut with the Reds Single-A affiliate Daytona Tortugas on Thursday, heads to the Reds organization following his time with both the Keys and the Kansas City Monarchs of the American Association of Professional Baseball.

While in Kansas City, Holt made headlines after attending an open tryout for the Monarchs and then making the team just before the start of the season in early May. From there, the former Arkansas Razorback played in 13 games for the Monarchs and finished with two home runs and five RBIs.

During Holt’s time in the Key City, he played in 22 games in the second half and recorded two doubles and three RBIs. Additionally, Holt became a mainstay in the Keys infield and spent time at second and third base in addition to being a designated hitter.

In his most recent college season in the spring of 2024, Holt had a .322 average in 46 games with Arkansas and was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team. He also hit eight homers and had 27 RBIs along with 14 multi-hit games during his second and last season in Fayetteville.
