Cutters Clinch MLB Draft League Second Half Championship

2nd Half Champs

Frederick, MD – With tonight’s 5-3 rain shortened victory over the Frederick Keys at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium, the Williamsport Crosscutters have officially won the 2nd Half Championship of the 2022 MLB Draft League season.

For Williamsport, this marks their first championship of any form as a member of the MLB Draft League, and the first for the franchise since winning the New York-Penn League Pinckney Division Championship in 2015.

The Crosscutters had already qualified for the MLB Draft League Championship Game last week, but now advance into the game as the 2nd Half Champions to face the 1st Half Champion West Virginia Black Bears. Williamsport will be looking to claim their third league championship in franchise history, having previously won the New York-Penn League Championship in 2001 (co-champions with Brooklyn) and 2003.

The MLB Draft League Championship Game is scheduled for Tuesday, September 6th at 6:35pm and will be played at Monongalia County Ballpark in Morgantown, West Virginia. Live coverage of the MLB Draft League Championship Game will be available at Crosscutters.com. More detailed coverage information will be announced soon.
