
FREDERICK, MD – 2023 Keys right-handed pitcher Chen-Wei Lin has started his time in the MLB Arizona Fall League strong after being named the Fall League Pitcher of the Week this past Tuesday. He earned the honor after throwing three innings of scoreless ball and recording five strikeouts, all while earning the victory on the mound as a result.
So far this fall, the 6-foot-7 right-hander has started in five games for the Glendale Desert Dogs while tossing 12.1 innings and recording 19 strikeouts. This came after he spent most of this past minor league season with the St. Louis Cardinals High-A affiliate Peoria Chiefs.
While in Peoria, the Tainan City, Taiwan native started all 12 of his games pitched and compiled 46 strikeouts in 38.2 innings. He also spent time with the Cardinals Double-A affiliate Springfield Cardinals after starting the year with Single-A Palm Beach.
During his summer in Frederick, Lin started four games and compiled a 2-0 record along with a 3.24 ERA. Additionally, he finished with 15 strikeouts in 16.2 innings, leading him to getting signed on July 3, 2023, by the Cardinals as the organization’s first ever player signed from Taiwan.

Additionally, former Keys Manager Rene Rivera was named as manager for the National League team during the 2025 Arizona Fall League Fall Star Game this past Sunday. This came after he spent this year as the manager for the Detroit Tigers Single-A affiliate Lakeland Flying Tigers. Prior to being named manager, the former Keys skipper was hired as the Flying Tigers bench coach for the 2024 season and has since guided them to a 155-103 record in two seasons in the Florida State League.
Watch more future stars as the Frederick Keys make their return to affiliated baseball next season as the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The first home game will take place on Tuesday, April 14 against the Hudson Valley Renegades (Yankees). Game times, tickets, and the promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
