FREDERICK, Md. – Following the signings of outfielder Darryl Buggs and right-handed pitcher Joe Miceli, fellow 2024 alumni and left-handed pitcher Nate Lamb signed his contract with the Down East Bird Dawgs on Thursday, after being the primary starter for Frederick in the second half last year.

The Chesnee, South Carolina native competed for Spartanburg Methodist College, Young Harris College, and spent part of his career with Mississippi State. He finished his college career last spring with North Greenville where he threw 47.2 innings before getting his first professional opportunities with the Idaho Falls Chukars and the Keys.

Lamb competed for the first time in Frederick in 2023 while maintaining his college eligibility. He appeared in seven games while making four starts and finished with 24 strikeouts in just 20.1 innings pitched.

During his second time in the Key City, Lamb started 10 games and tossed 45.2 innings while compiling a 1-2 record. He recorded 39 strikeouts allowing only 25 walks and was named as the opening day starter for the second half of the season in Williamsport.

The Frederick Keys begin their 2025 season against the West Virginia Black Bears on Wednesday June 4 at 7 p.m. at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. Tickets and the promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
