FREDERICK, MD – Two former Frederick Keys will take part in Banana Ball this coming season with 2024 pitchers Ga’Von Wray and Christian Davis both competing in the famous Banana Ball league in 2025.

Banana Ball features four teams including the Savannah Bananas, the Party Animals, the Firefighters, and the Texas Tailgaters. Following the 2022 season, the Savannah Bananas moved from the Coastal Plain League to its own league and created their own rules synonyms with Banana Ball.

Wray will throw for the Firefighters after pitching 15 games during the second half last summer in the Key City. Across 28 innings, Wray compiled 18 strikeouts and only allowed eight walks, quickly becoming one of the go-to relivers in the back end of the bullpen.

Recently, Wray finished up his college career with Georgia Southern and racked up 108 career innings pitched. In his first season with the Eagles three years ago, Wray made 21 appearances with 19 of those being in relief and finished with a 7-1 record and a save to lead the Eagles relievers.

Christian Davis will head down to Texas to play for the Tailgaters following his strong second half in Frederick last summer. During 11 relief appearances, the Southern University product threw in 12.2 innings while amassing eight strikeouts in quick outings from the bullpen.

In his four-year career with the Jaguars program, Davis finished with 100 innings on his tab and had 83 strikeouts to go along with 39 appearances. He also spent time in the Sunbelt Baseball League in 2022 during his first experience in summer ball, before getting his first professional opportunity with Frederick in 2024.

The Frederick Keys begin their 2025 season against the West Virginia Black Bears on Wednesday June 4 at 7 p.m. at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. Tickets and the promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
